Colton Underwood won't stand for hateful comments about his sexuality. Underwood, 33, took to his Instagram Story to share and reply to a hate comment from a Traitors season 4 fan. "And I really wish Colton was straight again," the user wrote via Threads. "We, the gays, don't want him. BYE!" Underwood responded, "What a weird and hateful thing to say. I'm happily married and living my best life ... I barely survived being in the closet. I wouldn't wish that on anyone." The reality TV personality added a message for those watching The Traitors' latest season: "Be kind today. It's a game and a TV show. ❤️." Happily Ever After! Colton Underwood and Jordan C. Brown Are Married Underwood, who is most known for his appearances in the Bachelor franchise, publicly came out as gay during an April 2021 interview on Good Morning America. "This year's been a lot for a lot of people and it's probably made a lot of people look at themselves in the year and figure out who they are," he said at the time. "I've ran from myself for a long time, I've hated myself for a long time. I'm gay. I came to terms with that earlier this year, and the next step in all of this was sort of letting people know. ... I'm the happiest and healthiest I've ever been in my life. That means the world to me." The former football player later documented his journey to coming out in a December 2021 reality series for Netflix called Coming Out Colton. He also began dating Democratic strategist Jordan C. Brown that year, and the couple later tied the knot in May 2023. They welcomed son Bishop via egg donor and surrogate in September 2024. Euan Cherry/PEACOCK Underwood rose to fame as a contestant on the 14th season of The Bachelorette, starring Becca Kufrin, in 2018. He was later cast in Bachelor in Paradise season 5, where he was briefly linked to fellow contestant Tia Booth, and starred in The Bachelor season 23. In 2025, Underwood joined the cast of The Traitors season 4 alongside several other celebrities, including Lisa Rinna, Mark Ballas, Stephen Colletti and more. The season premiered on Peacock on January 8. Underwood's sexuality was recently brought up during a tense moment with fellow contestant Michael Rapaport on The Traitors. "Nobody in this room would be better at holding a secret than you," Rapaport, 55, told Underwood when he accused him of being a Traitor. Colton Underwood and Husband Jordan C. Brown's Relationship Timeline "You think it was fun for 29 years of my life?" Underwood fired back, although Rapaport denied that his comment had anything to do with sexuality. "That has nothing to do with it. I think you came into this game loving the idea of being a Traitor," Rapaport said. Still, Rapaport's comment caused other contestants to turn on him. "You can't blame someone for being forced into a closet for the majority of their lives," Johnny Weir told him before Rapaport was ultimately banished. "That is what we took it as." Natalie Anderson added, "For me, there are some things that it doesn't even matter. You've been on my list from day 1 and I've been super honest with you about why. But today - the way you spoke to Colton - for me, it's enough to write your name."
