David Woolley bit his tongue during wife Christine Brown and her ex-husband Kody Brown's apology lunch on Sister Wives - but when it comes to the season 20 reunion, he's ready to let it all out. In Us Weekly's exclusive sneak peek at the Sunday, January 18, episode of the Sister Wives: 1-on-1 special, David admits his "first reaction" to hearing Kody, 56, reveal he "loved" Christine, 53, prior to their split was, "Why in the hell am I here?" "This is weird," David, 61, recalls thinking while speaking to reunion host Sukanya Krishnan. "It sent me down a little bit." While reflecting on Kody's apology to Christine - which was the second on his self-proclaimed ex-wives apology tour - David reveals he wasn't convinced Kody was doing it for the right reason. (Kody and Christine were spiritually married for more than 25 years before calling it quits in 2021. The exes share six children.) Courtesy of David Woolley/Instagram "I call bulls*** on that, because to me it's not about him and her anymore. They've been gone for three [to] four years now," David explains in the preview. "It's a bro code that you just don't cross. You don't tell your ex-wife in front of her husband right now, 'Hey, I did love you.' That's just wrong, flat out wrong." David notes that he was "cool about it" in the moment, but it doesn't sit well with him now. "The only reason I said, 'Hey, do you want to come to Moab, [Utah], was [because] I want[ed] to test to see where he's at," David says, referring to his offer to go offroading with Kody in Moab as a way to move forward as a blended family. Sister Wives' Kody Admits His Trust With Christine Was 'Killed' Before Apology David claims in the clip that the sitdown with Kody was really "all about what he wanted to say" and "not about, 'Hey, let's do something'" and mend fences. "He had to get his point across. And that was it. It's all about what he wants. It's not about what Christine wants," David alleges. "It's not what's [in the] best interest for what this family is, [it's] what he wants to do." Kody Brown Michael Simon/Getty Images During season 20 of Sister Wives, Kody visited all three of his ex-wives, starting with Janelle Brown in North Carolina, to apologize for how he handled the end of their relationships and their respective splits. He ended the tour with first wife Meri Brown in Utah. (Janelle, 56, and Kody split in 2022. Kody and Meri, 54, announced their separation in 2023.) His second stop was to Christine, whom he met up with in Las Vegas alongside her husband, David, whom she wed in October 2023. While the group did go race car driving together after their lunch, the actual discussion was awkward at best. 'Sister Wives' Recap: Christine Says She Was 'Never in Love' With Kody The most uncomfortable moment was when Kody confessed that he did "love" Christine after publicly saying he didn't love any of his exes. At the time, David gave Kody "advice" for moving forward, telling him to focus on his kids and not the women who have all moved on. Kody chose to ignore his advice and according to part 2 of the Sister Wives: 1-on-1 special airing on Sunday, he stands by his decision. "It was great because I think David oh absolutely means well and he has a lot of advice," Kody recalls of the sitdown in Us' first look at the episode. "I think David's a guy and guys think they've got things figured out." Christine Brown Says Ex Kody Texted Her About 'Soulmate' David Woolley Kody argues that plural marriage "is the kind of thing that tells you you don't know s***," claiming, "David doesn't know yet that he doesn't know s***. But I now know that I don't know s***." Kody then tells Krishnan that he's "not interested" in "receiving" David's advice, but he does "want to be courteous" to his exes' new husband. "I think David's a guy's guy. I frankly find him likable but I don't know David at all. David doesn't know me but I think David thinks he knows me," Kody concludes. Part 2 of Sister Wives: 1-on-1 special airs on TLC Sunday, January 18, at 10 p.m. ET.
