A man in Memphis, Tennessee, has been arrested after he was accused of raping and kidnapping a 13-year-old girl that he met on Snapchat during an incident on Christmas Eve 2025. Breon Collins was arrested on Wednesday, January 14, and was charged with especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated rape, evading arrest in an automobile and evading arrest, according to statement from the Memphis Police Department. Arrest records state that Memphis Police Department officers responded to a home in East Memphis on December 24, 2025, after receiving reports of a "suspicious vehicle," according to Fox 13 Memphis. Upon their arrival, officers found two people unclothed in a car on North Fernway Road. The man was identified as Collins, 32, and it was quickly discovered that he had an outstanding warrant. After police asked for the girl's information, Collins said that "they didn't need her information," per the affidavit. Collins was then ordered to get out of the car, though he drove off with the girl still in the vehicle. Man Arrested After Wife Finds Videos of Naked Teen Babysitter on His Phone The girl was later found by investigators, and she told them that she had been messaging with someone she believed to be a juvenile on Snapchat. She went on to tell the officers that she believed the man figured out where she lived through the app's location feature. When Collins arrived at her home, he texted her to come outside. She told authorities that she got into the man's car and he pointed a gun to her head as he also brandished a knife, according to court records. The girl told investigators that after police arrived at the scene, Collins pushed her out of his car and drove away. The victim was eventually able to identify Collins in a photo lineup, according to police. Collins was found at the Bartlett Justice Center on January 14, where he was taken into custody for his initial arrest warrant. Investigators told Collins he would be transferred to a different facility, according to records. After their meeting with Collins, police walked with him from the Bartlett Police Department back to the jail to get his belongings. However, they claimed that he tried to run away during the transfer. "He made it a few steps before he was subdued and taken into jail," police said in a report, according to Fox 13 Memphis. He is currently being held at Shelby County Jail, on a $200,000 bond. In light of the incident, the Memphis Police Department is urging parents and guardians to remain vigilant regarding their children's activity online. The department said that predators often use social media and messaging platforms to misrepresent themselves as they target underage individuals. In order to prevent incidents like this, parents are encouraged to know what apps their children are using, talk with their kids regularly about online safety and consider parental controls on phones and computers.
