Blake Lively has added another powerhouse attorney to her legal team ahead of the upcoming trial against Justin Baldoni! According to People on Friday, the actress hired Sigrid McCawley. You may recognize the name. She has handled quite a few high-profile cases throughout her career - including representing the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell! That includes the late Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she was sex trafficked as a teenager by Epstein and Maxwell to Prince Andrew and other powerful men. She also worked with Blake's publicist, Leslie Sloane, whom Justin countersued amid the It Ends With Us lawsuit battle. The case was dismissed in June 2025. Now, McCawley is joining the Gossip Girl alum's team! Related: Justin Baldoni Exposes Blake Lively's ABSURD Nickname For Her Home! People reported that the lawyer, who is managing partner of Boies Schiller Flexner, will be mainly handling communications with the public and the media on important matters involving the case. McCawley said in a statement: "It is a privilege to get to work with Blake Lively's world class legal team on a case that at its core is about a woman who was subjected to a hostile work environment and is being attacked for standing up to protect herself and other female co-workers." McCawley joins Mike Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, who have been working for months on the endless disputes, filings, and subpoena battles, and will soon face off against Justin's lawyers in the Southern District of New York. The pair reacted to her hiring, saying: "We are thrilled that Sigrid has joined Blake's legal team in this important role handling our public-facing communications. We recruited Sigrid based on her many years of work speaking truth to power, including her courageous representation of Jeffrey Epstein's victims, and have no doubt her experience will serve the team well." As Perezcious readers may know, a hearing is set for January 22, so the judge can hear arguments on Justin's motion for summary judgment, which seeks to have some or all of Blake's claims dismissed before the case reaches a jury in a few months. It was scheduled to go to trial in March, but has since been pushed to May 2026. We'll see what happens next, but it looks like Blake is pulling out any big gun she can get for her trial!
