Nobody Wants This producer Sara Foster nearly had some history with George Clooney. "Do you guys know I got set up with George Clooney, like, 30 years ago," Sara, 44, said during her and sister Erin Foster's "The World's First Podcast" episode released on Thursday, January 15. "It was such a blah. Sorry, had to say it." Erin, 43, was floored, hinting that this was new information. "Wait, sorry, you went on a date with him?" Erin asked. Sara Foster Was 'Cutting People Out' of Her Life Before Tommy Haas Split Sara clarified that Cindy Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber, tried to set Clooney, 64, up with Sara when she was "maybe" about 24 years old. (Clooney and Gerber are friends and business partners who founded Casamigos Tequila.) "The four of us all met and I was, no. It was just such a hard no," Sara said. "You didn't know that?" Erin appeared to be dumbfounded, confirming that she had "never" heard that story before. "I remember just thinking, 'Oh, he is so old,'" Sara recalled. "I always say that when I see these young girls dating older guys. Like, yes, of course, sometimes it makes sense, and it's all the things." She continued, "I've never understood a 19-year-old that's into a 40-year-old. I just always thought that was so weird." Sara said she was "offended" that Crawford and Gerber tried to set her up with Clooney "because he felt so old" to her. "I'm sure George Clooney is a nice guy, but I just remember it being the four of us sitting there and thinking like, 'I'm gonna die, like I'm gonna die,'" Sara said, noting that she was "so sad" over an ex-boyfriend at the time. "Then, here's this one who just feels like a grandpa. It was depressing. I was so depressed," she continued. Sara had one more clarification to make about the entire situation. "I also think it wasn't George being like, 'Oh, set me up with Sara Foster.' I think it was more like Rande and Cindy being like, 'We know someone great.' I don't think he was that into it either," she said. "I started crying about my ex to him. So I think he was like, 'This chick's not OK." George and Amal Clooney Are a Red Hot Couple at 2026 Golden Globes Sara ended up moving on from both her ex and Clooney with tennis player Tommy Haas, whom she was with for 19 years. News broke in August 2024 that Sara and Haas had split. The former couple are parents of daughters Valentina and Josephine. The conversation came about as Sara and Erin were recapping their night at the 2026 Golden Globes after their show, Nobody Wants This, was up for three awards. (They lost across all categories.) Clooney, meanwhile, was nominated for his Netflix film Jay Kelly and seated alongside his wife, Amal Clooney. George was known for his avid dating life before tying the knot with Amal, 47, in September 2014. The two share 8-year-old twins Alexander and Ella. "I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman, and I feel as if I hit the jackpot," George said during an April 2025 interview. "There isn't a day that goes by where I don't think I'm the luckiest man in the world."
