Tom Brady is getting candid about his difficult divorce from Gisele Bündchen. As you know, back in 2022 while Tom was playing his final NFL season, he and his wife split up. The fact that he even went back to play that final season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers seemed to be a lot of the cause of their 13 year marriage coming to an end, while Gisele called their relationship "irretrievably broken" as she filed for divorce. It was - and has continually been - a rough time for Tom. And while the supermodel has moved on and gotten married again, and also had a new child, he's opening up about his personal struggles amid their split. He said during an appearance on The Herd Thursday that the breakup caused his talents on the field to dwindle: "My last season was tough. I was going through... I had a lot of, you know, just a personal, family issue, and it was a challenge. It was very ... it just took a lot out of me in terms of, you know, my ability to continue to play." The 48-year-old also admitted he felt "ready" to call it quits by the end of the season - his divorce and family issues really made things difficult: "I had 23 years of [football], so I didn't feel like I was missing anything, retiring. I felt like, okay, this time I always had a goal: 45. I was 45 years old, I wanted to spend time with my kids, I felt like, okay, now it's time for me to be at all my kids' games. They've been to enough of their dad's games."
