Ashton Kutcher has no love lost for his ex-wife, Demi Moore. "Demi's performance in The Substance, obviously, got extraordinary accolades. I'm so proud of her," Kutcher, 47, told Entertainment Tonight in a Wednesday, January 14, interview. "[She] killed it." Kutcher and Moore, now 63, were married for six years before divorcing in 2011. While Moore was previously married to Bruce Willis, with whom she shares three daughters, Kutcher has moved on with That '70s Show costar Mila Kunis. Kutcher and Kunis, 42, tied the knot in 2015 before welcoming two children. Moore later starred as onetime starlet Elisabeth Sparkle in Coralie Fargeat's 2024 horror film, The Substance, where she begins injecting herself with a mysterious serum in hopes of looking younger. Moore earned her first-ever Academy Award nomination for the role but ultimately lost to Anora's Mikey Madison. Ashton Kutcher's Dating History: Mila Kunis, Demi Moore and More Kutcher's new show, FX's The Beauty, also dives into the world of cosmetic procedures. In the newest Ryan Murphy brainchild, Kutcher plays a tech billionaire whose corporation made a miracle drug that caused mysterious and deadly consequences. "I think the bigger context though is we're in a society where cosmetic enhancement is becoming increasingly predominant and accepted," he said, comparing The Beauty to The Substance. "It's a weird thing. Over the last two decades, you just watch the rise of that taking place. It used to be braces on your teeth would be the only cosmetic enhancement, otherwise you'd be judged for it. Gradually, there's a social acceptance of, 'Hey, this makes that person feel happy and that's what matters more than any aesthetic outcome.'" He continued, "I think Ryan really wanted to explore that beauty is very different for each one of these characters. When they go through the transformation, it could be an entirely abnormal thing for someone but for that person, that is the outcome." Kutcher, however, noted that some of the outcomes come with "unintended consequences." Ashton Kutcher Was 'F--king Pissed' When Ex Demi Moore Released Her Memoir "I think that's the other piece of the puzzle," he acknowledged. "It doesn't matter who you are or what you look like. I started modeling when I was 19 and I was hanging out with, what I considered, to be the most beautiful people in the world and what I realized really quickly is everybody had an insecurity. You look in the mirror long enough, you'll find something you don't like or you think could be better or different." The Beauty is Kutcher's first acting role since 2023's Your Place or Mine. "I, honestly, wasn't looking to do anything. I was, like, 'I'm busy, I've got an investment firm I'm running, I got my kids,'" Kutcher told ET of signing onto the new show. "I got a call that Ryan Murphy wanted to meet and have a conversation, and I was, like, 'It's Ryan Murphy,' and I so admire his work and his prolific repertoire of entertainment is extraordinary. I think he's an unbelievable writer [and] storyteller." After speaking with Murphy, 60, Kutcher revealed he was sold on the series' premise. "He starts talking to me about Ozempic and GLP-1s and Mounjaro [like], 'People are afraid to get a COVID shot but will shoot themselves with a GLP-1 for an outcome,'" Kutcher told the outlet. "I'm watching the market play out, and I go, 'This is really interesting.'" The Beauty premieres on FX Wednesday, January 21.
