Jana Kramer is reacting to Ashley Tisdale French's explosive essay about leaving a toxic mom group. "When this came into the thread, [my cohost] Katherine [Vieira Woodard] and I both go 'ooof' because we know two of them," Kramer, 42, shared on the Wednesday, January 14, episode of iHeartRadio's "Whine Down" podcast. "I was really close with one of them. One I still from time to time DM." Kramer admitted it was "tricky" discussing the essay, partly because she has a personal connection. "I think I'll share my experience maybe later on - my experience with one of them, possibly," she teased. "But I do think this is an interesting topic." What Really Happened Between Ashley Tisdale, Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore On January 1, French, 40, got the Internet talking when she penned an essay for The Cut titled "Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group." After being left out of multiple group hangs, French wrote about the moment she decided to text the group that "this is too high school for me, and I don't want to take part in it anymore." While French never named the members associated with the group, many fans believe Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, Meghan Trainor and other moms are part of the circle. (Even Duff's husband, Matthew Koma, sounded off on the essay.) French's rep, however, told TMZ the post was not about those three celebrity moms in particular. Instead, it was a piece meant to spotlight an issue that other women can relate to, of being shut out of a friend group. Stars React to Ashley Tisdale's Viral Mom Group Drama: Matthew Koma and More While Kramer stayed mum on her experience with Tisdale's alleged friend group, Woodward offered a bit more insight. "They have been nothing but lovely to me. I want to say that. I want to be on record saying that they have always been extremely kind to me," she said on the podcast. "I've never been in a mom group with them. I've never been really in a group with them, so that doesn't mean anything." Although Kramer acknowledged she didn't have any inside information about what went down in Tisdale's group, she predicted that similar issues would arise when one person is being left out. "I think that's the issue because it would hurt my feelings if it was just all of you guys and I'm the only one out of the group," she said. "When you start to feel like you're maybe not cool enough, I think that was one of my experiences." Without getting into details of her connections with French's mom group, Kramer said "all is fine" and any drama with members was "so long ago." How Ashley Tisdale's Former Mom Group Is Moving Forward After Viral Essay "We're not close anymore, but that's because we're in different seasons of life," she said. "I just think in this situation with Ashley, it's when you're wanting to step away, it's how you do it, because that's what the person's going to feel when they feel iced out. It's not a good feeling to be on the receiving end." Both Kramer, Woodward and fellow cohost Kristen Brust aren't surprised French's essay has become such a hot topic across the country. "I get so many DMs of people just saying, 'Gosh, I wish I had what you guys had,'" Brust explained. Kramer added, "Everybody wants to be in a mom group."
