Season two is shaping up the same way - only a lot bigger. The streamer says the season two premiere of The Pitt notched 5.4 million viewers in the United States in its first three days, then grew to 7.2 million over a full week. The three-day total of 5.4 million is almost triple what the series premiere in January 2025 drew in the same time frame. According to Nielsen, in the 2024-25 season The Pitt brought in 6.18 million viewers per episode - over 35 days. The numbers in the paragraph above are first-party data from HBO Max, but if they're anywhere close to Nielsen measurement, the season two premiere has already surpassed the show's five-week average for season one. That includes HBO originals like The White Lotus, House of the Dragon and The Last of Us. Those numbers lend support to HBO Max's early season three renewal for The Pitt. The show's five Emmy wins and presence on a host of critics' best-of lists for 2025 probably didn't hurt either. The show added a pair of Golden Globe wins to its laurels on Sunday. Each season of The Pitt follows the emergency room staff of a Pittsburgh hospital over the course of a single shift; season two is set on the Fourth of July. The series stars Noah Wyle, Katherine LaNasa, Patrick Ball, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell and Shabana Azeez. Sepideh Moafi joined the cast for season two. R. Scott Gemmill created the series and executive produces with John Wells, Wyle, Michael Hissrich, Erin Jontow, Simran Baidwan and Joe Sachs. The show comes from Warner Bros. Television.
