The two are working together on McGee's hotly anticipated Netflix show How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, with Jackson joining an ensemble cast including Roísín Gallagher, Sinéad Keenan and Caoilfhionn Dunne. The eight-part series follows three friends as they investigate the mysterious death of a former schoolmate. How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, arriving in February, is pegged as a story about "friendship, memory and what happens when life doesn't turn out quite like you'd expected." Jackson is best known as teen ringleader Erin Quinn in the hit series, who, together with friends Louisa Harland, Nicola Coughlan, Jamie-Lee O'Donnell and Dylan Llewellyn, find themselves constantly in comical crisis. The show is backdropped by 1990s Ireland, specifically during the final years of the Troubles. Such was the success of the program that McGee picked up three BAFTA TV Awards and an International Emmy Award for her writing. Jackson's breakout performance saw her nominated for an Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) Gala Television Award. "The maestro Lisa McGee is back and I couldn't be happier that she's put words in my mouth once again - they are delicious," Jackson told The Hollywood Reporter. "I'm so proud to be part of this show and elated to be back working with Lisa. I'm excited for the world to meet the new Jessica Fletcher A-Team and discover the depths of their friendship. It's a story about the lengths women will go to for each other and Lisa delivers it with all the humor and heart you would expect from a true heavyweight wordsmith." McGee told Netflix's Tudum in October last year: "We got the gang back together - the creative team behind Derry Girls has reunited to bring you How to Get to Heaven from Belfast. This is the show I've always wanted to make; a mash‑up of my two favorite genres, mystery and comedy. We want to keep you guessing and keep you laughing."
