Prosecutors have requested that Timothy Busfield remain incarcerated amid his child sexual abuse case. Lawyers claimed in new court documents obtained by TMZ on Wednesday, January 14, that Busfield, 68, "poses an ongoing and serious danger to children and the community" and shouldn't be released on bail. "His conduct reflects a calculated pattern of grooming, lack of boundaries and exploitation of professional authority to gain access to minors," the filing reads. "[He has] a documented pattern of sexual misconduct, abuse of authority and grooming behavior." Busfield surrendered himself to law enforcement officials in New Mexico on Tuesday, January 13, less than a week after he was publicly accused of misconduct. They're all lies, and I did not do anything to those little boys," the West Wing alum said in a video obtained by TMZ on Tuesday, denying the allegations. "I'm going to fight it. Two twin child actors claimed in a Friday, January 9, arrest warrant that Busfield inappropriately touched them when they were cast on an episode of Fox's The Cleaning Lady, which Busfield was tapped to direct. Busfield was separately interviewed by New Mexico officials in the warrant, admitting it was "highly likely" he had physical contact with the accusers. "Timothy said it was a playful environment like he wanted," a police officer wrote in docs obtained by Us, further claiming that Busfield stated there was "no protocol" about touching children. "Timothy initially said, 'It's not allowed at all. There is no, there's no protocol. I mean, I'm always around people, right? It would be, you know, in front of the parents." Another accuser came forward on Wednesday, alleging that the TV director abused a then-teenage girl several years ago. He did not immediately address the claims. Us reached out for comment.
