Posted 5 hours agoAmid All The "Mom Group Drama," Mandy Moore Opened Up About Mourning Friendships That Have "Taken A Different Course""I've had to sort of mourn in a way, not the loss of those friendships, but how they've changed."by Leyla MohammedBuzzFeed StaffFacebookPinterestLink Amid the viral "mom group drama," Mandy Moore has opened up about drifting apart from certain friends. Rodin Eckenroth / Getty Images If you've not been keeping up, the drama was made public earlier this month when Ashley Tisdale detailed "breaking up" with her "toxic" group of mom friends in an article for the Cut. Loads of fans immediately guessed that the essay was about Mandy, as well as Hilary Duff, given that they were all famously part of the same "mom squad," and Ashley is no longer following them on Instagram. View this photo on Instagram @meghantrainor / Via instagram.com While Ashley's rep denied this speculation, things only got messier when Hilary's husband, Matthew Koma, branded the High School Musical alum "self-obsessed" and "tone-deaf" in a scathing post. Amy Sussman / Getty Images Matthew posted a parodied version of Ashley's the Cut cover, which featured the tagline: "When you're the most self-obsessed, tone-deaf person on Earth, other moms tend to shift their focus to their actual toddlers." Not long after, Mandy heaped praise onto Matthew, reposting a video he shared of her performing at a concert and writing, "This feels incredibly fitting as @matthewkoma happens to be one [of] the most talented and generous humans I'm lucky to know (he literally gave my family a place to stay one year ago today when we evacuated). Love you, MB!!" Variety / Getty Images Mandy, 41, shares three kids with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith: August, Oscar, and Louise, who are 4, 3, and 16 months old, respectively. Speaking candidly on the Conversations with Cam podcast, Mandy recalled, "I think the origin story is all kind of having pandemic babies. Hilary Duff is a very dear friend of [mine]. She and her husband, Matt, are really close with me and Taylor, my husband." Conversations With Cam Podcast / Via youtu.be Mandy went on to describe Hilary as "the ultimate mom" who organized music classes at her house for the group and their babies - and before long, the parents were doing everything together. "We evolved from music class to movement class to all hanging out," she shared. Stefanie Keenan / Getty Images "The mom chat is always popping off with questions, comments, concerns, fun gossip. All the things," Mandy added. Later on in the conversation, Mandy touched on "mourning" the loss of some friendships, particularly since becoming a parent. While she didn't name any names, the subject arose after she asked host Cameron Rogers, "Do you feel like you have seen a friendship sort of take a different course?" Conversations With Cam Podcast / Via youtu.be She continued, "I have friends who have kids that are older, let's say. And I have found that the people I am closest with in my life right now are people who are kind of at the same chapter of their lives as parents. Like, we have kids the same age." Conversations With Cam Podcast / Via youtu.be "I've had to sort of mourn in a way, not the loss of those friendships, but how they've changed," she added. Conversations With Cam Podcast / Via youtu.be Cameron replied, "Yeah, I have friends who have kids the exact same age as mine, I have friends who have kids that are older, and I have friends who don't have children and don't know if they want to have children. I think that it's no one's fault and no one's doing anything wrong, and it doesn't mean you love anyone less. But the reality is you're going to be in more contact with the people whose kids are your exact age." You can listen to the full podcast episode here.
