Nick Reiner's former powerhouse lawyer shocked the world when he suddenly dropped the case - and now he's finally addressing it. We previously reported on how Rob and Michele Reiner's son secured the big shot lawyer for his upcoming murder case, only for attorney Alan Jackson to suddenly drop it completely. At the time it was a shock, and the only thing we heard was Nick's family assuring everyone it had nothing to do with the lawyer's "performance" and that they wouldn't be commenting further on the matter. Well, now it's his turn to comment, and while on Tuesday's episode of the Hot Mics podcast, the legal pro was asked about why he quit. He answered by telling host Billy Bush: "That's a confidential communication between a lot of folks that I'm not willing to disclose." Billy then turned around and questioned Alan if it potentially had anything to do with money, to which the lawyer snapped: "You can't say that something happened with the retainer because I've never said that. Obviously, something happened with my ability, and my team's ability, to continue the representation, but I don't want you, your audience or anybody else to start speculating as to what that might be. I have not said a word about it." Hmm... Related: How Reiner Kids Feel About Nick Facing Death Penalty & Who They Blame For Parents' Murders He added firmly: "Once I'm done, I'm done. I've withdrawn." But what makes this statement even more interesting? Later in the podcast, he revealed that he originally "dropped everything" and ran to represent Nick. Just one day after Rob and Michele were murdered, the lawyer said he received a call in the "very early hours of December 15": "I have to show fealty and loyalty to the confidentiality that attends that kind of phone call ... I can tell you that immediately thereafter, I dropped everything. I sent out a notice to my team here back in Los Angeles ... I got on a flight nearly immediately." For him to drop everything and head toward El Lay immediately, only to withdraw the very day Nick was set to be arraigned on January 7, something BIG had to have happened to make him quit. We mean, he seemed so ready to represent him, then suddenly, bam - gone! See his full statement (below): Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know all your thoughts in the comments.
