It not only gets me excited to watch the film but also gives a glimpse of iconic movie moments. I especially love seeing actors mess up and have fun with the dialogues-it looks incredibly fun! I looked into which scenes were improvisations or bloopers, and to be honest, I was mind-blown. Let me enlighten you too! Here are 14 bloopers and improvisations that were just TOO good to cut from the film: 1. The Usual Suspects, 1995 Bad Hat Harry Productions / Blue Parrot Productions This infamous line-up scene lives in our head rent-free because of this one blooper-Benicio Del Toro farting. According to the writer Christopher McQuarrie, Benicio Del Toro could not stop farting during the scene, causing the other actors to break out in laughter. It was said that the actor farted about 12 times in a row, and following that, no one could keep it together. The writer believed that this blooper actually enhanced the scene, making it as memorable as it is today. Who knew someone's fart would make for an iconic cult classic scene? 2. The Dark Knight, 2008 (C)Warner Bros/Courtesy Everett Collection The genius Heath Ledger improvised this intimidating yet mesmerizing slow clap by the Joker in the prison cell; this move was not scripted. This improvisation was meant to convey the Joker's sarcasm towards Jim Gordon as he accepted his promotion in that scene. The audience could tell the Joker was mocking Gordon with his slow clap and a sneer on his face. Truly iconic. 3. Titanic, 1997 (C)20thCentFox/Courtesy Everett Collection Leonardo DiCaprio's infamous line, "I'm the king of the world!" was never SCRIPTED! James Cameron, the director, revealed that the line was made up on the spot. They had tried various different lines for the scene, but none of them really stuck. That's when the director came up with this line and convinced the actor to say it, as Leo himself wasn't too sold on it. Nonetheless, the actor performed the line so well that it did wonders and is one of the most quoted lines. I can't imagine Titanic without this iconic line. 4. The Godfather, 1972 Courtesy Everett Collection This memorable scene of Don Vito Corleone delivering brutal orders originally didn't involve a pet. This cute cat somehow entered the set and hopped onto the actor's lap while shooting. And the actor couldn't help but pet the cat while filming one of the most iconic scenes of the film. 5. The 40-Year-Old Virgin, 2005 (C)Universal/Courtesy Everett Collection This hilarious scene did not use any kind of special effects or make-up; Steve Carell chose to get waxed in real life. Now, that's dedication! He thought that it would seem unreal if the waxing was done via special effects. So for authenticity, he chose to wax off his chest hair. He revealed that the experience was so horrible, he would never do that for a movie ever again. We have to thank him for his bravery, as it gave us one of the funniest scenes! 6. Rocky, 1976 Chartoff Winkler Productions / Via youtube.com The people in the background of this scene were not extras but regular people who had no clue that they were being filmed in a scene. When Rocky runs through a market, a stranger actually throws him an orange, leading to a natural, unscripted moment that made the final cut. 7. Mrs. Doubtfire, 1993 20th Century Studios / Via youtube.com During this scene, the face mask was actually made out of icing. But because of the set lights, the icing started to melt and drip down Robin Williams' face. Given that, he had to improvise when the icing fell into the teacup. That's when he said, "There you go, you've got your cream and sugar now." Classic! 8. Thor: The Dark World, 2013 Marvel Studios / Via youtube.com This scene where Thor hangs his hammer on the coat rack was not scripted; it was Chris Hemsworth improvising and trying to be funny. And it worked! The unscripted move was so good that it made it in the final cut. 9. The Avengers, 2012 Marvel Studios / Via youtube.com During the shoot for The Avengers, Robert Downey Jr. kept on sneaking in snacks behind the scenes and on the set. The director could not get him to stop, so he let him eat the snacks in character. Robert Downey Jr. had hidden a small bag of blueberries in this particular scene and whipped it out in the midst of filming. He even offered some to Mark Ruffalo and Chris Evans. The actors maintained their character, while RDJ continued snacking on the fruit. 10. The Silence of the Lambs, 1991 Orion Pictures / Via youtube.com
