Fisk University basketball player Andre Bell died on Sunday, January 11, in a shooting that erupted on a Tennessee highway. Bell, 20, was a sophomore at the school and studied business administration, the Nashville university said in a statement. Bell, originally from Jackson, Tennessee, died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Monday, January 12, Metropolitan Nashville Police Department confirmed. He was shot once in the head. The shooting unfolded on the I-65 north highway at the I-40 interchange in Nashville and is being handled as a homicide, sources confirmed to Us Weekly.
