Jeez. This is a horrible, horrible thing to say. On Monday night, Jeffree Star was on TikTok Live when he was caught making two terrible jokes about deportation! The makeup guru was video-chatting with internet personality Jessica Dimon and another friend when Jessica added a young Latino man to the live. He was filming from a dark room with a red light. That man ended up insulting her before hopping off the live. That's when Jeffree shockingly said: "Huh. I'm just surprised they have red lights in the deportation centers." OMFG! Related: Snoop Dogg's Censored Comment At The Golden Globes Revealed! Later in the same livestream, the 40-year-old made ANOTHER joke about deportation while speaking to others, saying: "I know what Jessica's thinking. She's like, I'm calling ICE." WTF! Watch both clips (below): That is not funny at all! It's especially insensitive given the ICE incident that just happened last week in Minneapolis, when a US Citizen named Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent after dropping her son off at school. No matter your politics, none of this should be a laughing matter. And, yet sadly, everyone on the livestream laughed along. Jessica went live later with Perez Hilton and denied remembering anything about the joke or understanding what Jeffree said at the time - despite having had an over-the-top reaction in the moment. You can watch the full conversation here: @theshowbizguy Love to you, @Jessica Dimon ????! #JeffreeStar #Latinos #LatinoTok ♬ original sound - Perez H. ???? On Tuesday morning, Jessica had a change of heart about what happened, apologizing via her TikTok Story: "I want to apologize for my actions. I take full accountability for not speaking up, standing up, or responding as I should have. I am 100% against ICE and everything ICE is doing. I apologize to anyone I have hurt by not defending. Please give me the opportunity to grow, learn and work hard so i can do better." Guess she went back to watch the replay! Now, even Jeffree has reacted to the controversy! In the comment section of one of his posts, a fan complained: "This makes me sad. I have bought so much of your make-up to find out you side with Ice." The creator quickly replied: "I absolutely do not side with anyone, it was a dark humor joke on a live stream for five seconds" (c) TikTok Sigh. You can't make a so-called joke like that (on a repeated basis) and not be siding with someone! Ugh. Sounds more like he was worried about a boycott due to the backlash than anything else. SMH. He doubled down in another comment seemingly reacting to the controversy, saying: "Why would I care, people can joke about whatever they want." Doesn't make it right, though! Thoughts, y'all??
