Gilbert Flores / Getty Images Several of her Sex and the City co-stars were among those who congratuted her. Pascal Le Segretain / Getty Images Kristin Davis, who famously portrayed Charlotte, gave an emotional speech, calling Sarah her "chosen family" - a bond that started 28 years ago when they met on SATC. Gilbert Flores / Getty Images Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) couldn't attend, as she's currently performing in Marjorie Prime on Broadway, but she posted a heartfelt Instagram video sending "many, many congratulations." Manoli Figetakis / Getty Images Fans will recall that Chris famously played Mr. Big, the elusive, hard-to-pin-down love interest of Sarah's Carrie Bradshaw, for all six seasons of Sex and the City, which ran from 1998 to 2004. He returned for Season 1 of the spinoff show And Just Like That... in 2021, but his character was killed off in the first episode while riding a Peloton bike. James Devaney / Getty Images Though Chris was supposed to appear in the finale, his cameo was reportedly scrapped after several women came forward to accuse him of sexual assault in December 2021 - allegations that Chris denied, calling them "completely ridiculous" with "absolutely no basis in fact" in a subsequent interview with USA Today. Dimitrios Kambouris / Getty Images "I strayed on my wife, and it's devastating to her and not a very pretty picture," he said, referring to his wife, Tara Wilson. "What it isn't is a crime." Toronto Star / Getty Images Still, the fallout was swift. In addition to losing the finale cameo, Chris lost a $12 million deal to sell his Tequila brand, was removed from The Equalizer, and had a Peloton ad pulled. Sarah, Kristin, and Cynthia also issued a statement supporting the women who came forward, calling it "a very difficult thing to do." Jose Perez / Getty Images Chris and Sarah had previously been close friends while filming SATC, but as of May 2022, Sarah said they were no longer in contact. Tim P. Whitby / Getty Images In 2023, Radar Online reported that Chris felt "iced out" by his former castmates, claiming he wasn't invited to their events or even sent "happy birthday texts" and wanted an apology from them for their "rude behavior." Chris publicly denied the report, calling it "absolute nonsense." Vince Bucci / Getty Images But now, fans are questioning their relationship all over again after Chris's reaction to Sarah's Carol Burnett Award. The comment came after Chris took to Instagram yesterday to share a photo of himself working out at the gym. "F&@k new years - LETS GO!!!!" he wrote in the caption. View this photo on Instagram @chrisnothofficial / Via Instagram: @undefined A fan commented, "You mean fcuk sjp & her award right? lol," to which Chris simply replied, "Right." @chrisnothofficial / Via Instagram: @undefined People were very confused. @chrisnothofficial / Via Instagram: @undefined Was it sarcasm? Was he serious? Unsure. We've reached out to his reps for comment and will let you know if we hear back.
