Dia Dipasupil / FilmMagic In case you missed it, during a recent episode of his Las Culturistas podcast with Bowen Yang, the cohosts had a conversation about their past and present political choices before turning to Jasmine, who's currently running for Senate in Texas. Omar Vega / Getty Images Matt's comments came after discussing Gavin Newsom's potential 2028 US presidential bid, of which he remarked, "Any time a politician is making it too obviously about themselves, I'm already done." He followed that up by saying, "And don't waste your money sending to Jasmine Crockett. Do not do it. Don't do it, you're going to waste your money." Bravo / Randy Shropshire/BRAVO via Getty Images "Hey everybody," he wrote. "I hear the response and I am taking every bit of it to heart, I promise. Transparency and candor matter to me, especially on the podcast. I'm a very progressive person who cares deeply about winning these elections, but my phrasing was not right. I will be more thoughtful! I really do promise." @mattrogerstho / Via Instagram: @mattrogerstho "I have great respect and admiration for Rep. Crockett, and I regret that my words suggested otherwise. I just want us to win and I will be better at finding ways to help." Chad Salvador / Variety via Getty Images Bowen also reposted Matt's apology and added, "should not have cursorily weighed in on this. understanding the platform and will use it more responsibly." @fayedunaway / Via Instagram: @fayedunaway Well, there you have it. All in all, this bit of discourse was a questionable way to spend anyone's time in a moment when people are literally getting killed by government agencies in broad daylight. Everyone needs a distraction, I suppose!
