A man in Michigan was arrested for assaulting his pregnant girlfriend after he allegedly gave her a brain bleed and drove her to a Walmart to get Tylenol instead of the hospital. Police responded to an emergency room in Bay City, Michigan, on December 29, 2025, after a 39-year-old woman was brought in with a brain bleed and potentially a broken neck, according to MLive. Medical staff confirmed that she was five months pregnant at the time of the visit. The woman's boyfriend, Dylan Lee Haddix, was later found by police in the hospital's waiting room. Haddix, 29, told authorities that the woman was hospitalized after she tried to leave their house while carrying their toddler. He claimed that he told her to go back inside, though she allegedly was unable to and fell and hit her head on the corner of a wall. Haddix said he realized something was wrong with his girlfriend when she started slurring her words, according to police. He also claimed that he suspected she suffered a head injury during the fall. He then added that she told him they should go to the hospital instead. As the couple returned to their home, the woman had a seizure in the car and Haddix called 911. Medical staff concluded that the woman had a large contusion the size of a baseball on the right side of her forehead, according to police. Additionally, she had several bruises on her neck and arms. Police later asked Haddix about her injuries, and he claimed he didn't know how she got them. The woman lost consciousness while at the hospital, and she was transported to Hurley Medical Center for more intensive treatment. While speaking to police at the Bay County Law Enforcement Center, Haddix explained he has suffered with memory loss ever since he was involved in a motorcycle crash in 2014. Haddix also told police that he and his girlfriend were arguing over her use of a gambling app prior to her hospitalization. He allegedly admitted to slamming his girlfriend's head into a wall and on the floor during the fight. "I told you time and time again, don't mess with my money," he recalled telling her. When reflecting on his decision to take his girlfriend to Walmart for Tylenol, Haddix said he "was in the helping mood" and he likes "helping people." He added, "I didn't mean for this to happen and I feel terrible."
