Former Los Angeles Lakers star Christian Wood accused his ex Yasmine Lopez of placing a tracking device in their child's diaper bag in an attempt to find out his home address, Us Weekly can exclusively report. On Tuesday, January 6, Wood, 30, who shares a 2-year-old son named Kobe with Lopez, filed court docs claiming the device was found by his sister following a recent custody exchange. Wood claimed his sister went into Kobe's diaper bag and " discovered a slit into the inside of the backpack, containing a 'tile' tracking device." (Per court documents, Lopez denied Wood's claim she was tracking him.) "The tracking device was carefully hidden inside Kobe's diaper bag with the intent to not be found," Wood alleged. "It was not visible or ever disclosed, and I have not authorized any tracking device being placed in Kobe's belongings." He explained, "Based on the concealment of the tracking device, it was placed for the purpose of tracking my movements and location through Kobe. This would give [Lopez] confidential information, identifying my residence and whereabouts. The court has ordered that [Lopez] is prohibited from obtaining this information." Christian Wood Michael Reaves/Getty Images Wood added that the hidden tracking device "constitutes covert electronic surveillance, which is a direct violation" of the temporary restraining order he was granted in November 2025. As Us first reported, Wood was granted primary custody of Kobe. The order was amended to allow Lopez time with her son. "The last time [Lopez] had my residential address, there was an attempt made on my life. My safety has once again been compromised due to [Lopez]," the former NBA star wrote. "Placing the concealed tracking device into Kobe's diaper bag was a conscious attempt to monitor Kobe and I, this was no mistake." Anthony Edwards' Ex Ayesha Accuses NBA Star of Drone Surveillance, 'Stalking' Wood wrote, "I am extremely concerned for my safety and the safety of Kobe. [Lopez] has continually demonstrated to me and to this Court that she has no regard for this Court's orders. Ms. Lopez is so focused on gaining my residential address, that she has used Kobe as an instrument to do so." "I am unsure of what information [Lopez] has gathered from this tracking device and as a result, I am now looking for 24/7 personal security to prevent my life from being taken from me." A rep for Yasmine clarified her use of the tracking device exclusively with Us. "Yasmine uses location trackers for both of her children at all times as a standard safety measure. The device is kept in their school or diaper bags and travels with them daily, including when they are with family members such as Yasmine's mother. This practice has been in place for some time and is not specific to, or directed at, Christian. It is simply part of Yasmine's approach to ensuring her children's safety and peace of mind at all times," the statement read. In court docs filed the same day, Lopez accused Wood of obtaining his temporary restraining order improperly. She adamantly denied playing any role in the attempted break-in at Wood's home. Lopez claimed Wood used the break-in at his home "to distract and try to get custody of our son." In her new filing, Lopez also claimed to be alarmed for their son's safety. Lopez demanded sole custody of their son. NBA Star Anthony Edwards Accuses Ex of Using Daughter to Make 'Revenue' In response, Wood's lawyer argued, "If [Lopez] genuinely believed the minor child was in immediate danger, [Lopez] would not have waited until after reviewing [Wood's recent motion] to seek emergency court intervention." As Us previously reported, Lopez also obtained her own temporary restraining order against Wood. Anthony Edwards Demands Ex Turn Over Texts She Sent to His Other Ex Lopez claimed that Wood kicked and slapped her from behind during a custody exchange. She believes he was upset after learning she had a new boyfriend. She also claimed he threatened her on May 8, 2024, during an argument about their son. She claimed he told her he would kill her if she left with their son that day. She also claimed he spat on her and choked her during a 2024 Valentine's Day date in Utah.
