What do musicians do when they get in or get out of relationships? They write songs about it! That's exactly what Zach Bryan is doing in his new album, With Heaven on Top - and he's not taking it easy on his ex Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia. After their messy breakup, and her allegations of emotional abuse, the country singer is laying his POV all out in a few of his new songs, including Slicked Back, Skin, and Plastic Cigarette. In the song Slicked Back, Zach immediately goes for his ex, while praising his current wife Samantha Leonard (whom he married just five months after going public with her). The song goes: "Used to know some folks who put it all online / But you paint landscapes in the evening time" The influencer ex VS artist wife battle is very clear in this song! Listen (below): In another song from the album titled Skin, Zach is seemingly referencing a tattoo he got of Brianna that she claims he did before they even got together. He sings in the ballad: "I'm taking a blade to my own skin / And I ain't ever touching yours again" Ouch! He even goes as far to reference his sobriety, and having to really "take it all in" now: "Do you still talk s**t on all of your friends? / Need to take it all to the chin this time stone-cold sober" Damn! Finally, in his song Plastic Cigarette, he straight up calls his ex "evil" while referencing how they met in Queens after a concert several years back: "You were collecting shells out on the bay shore / You know I was a shell before / Deep in the hands of another / My brother had told me to leave / But I didn't believe / That evil would mean some people you meet out in Queens" Yeesh!
