HBO Max doesn't have a constant influx of new movies like some of its other streaming rivals. In fact, the only new arrival this week was 65, a sci-fi flick that pits Adam Driver against dinosaurs millions of years in the past. But we can do better than that, so Watch With Us has chosen the three best new-to-HBO Max movies to watch this weekend. All three of our picks were added to HBO Max on the first of the month, with something for comedy, action and romance lovers. If You Have to Watch 5 Movies From the '90s, Stream These 5 Masterpieces Now 'Fargo' (1996) Fargo wasn't the first movie by the Coen brothers, but it was one of their early critical hits at the box office, thanks to the film's quirky and darkly comedic story set in the American Midwest. Best Actress winner Frances McDormand leads the cast as Marge Gunderson, the unassuming police chief of a small town called Brainerd. Marge's latest investigation centers on car dealer Jerry Lundegaard (William H. Macy), a desperate man who arranged the kidnapping of his wife, Jean (Kristin Rudrüd), to extort money out of her wealthy father, Wade Gustafson (Harve Presnell). Unfortunately for Jerry, the two goons he hired for the kidnapping, Carl Showalter (Steve Buscemi) and Gaear Grimsrud (Peter Stormare), don't know the meaning of restraint. And the dead bodies they leave behind cause chaos in their wake. Fargo is streaming on HBO Max. 'Constantine' (2005) Although Constantine is based on the comic Hellblazer, it makes so many changes to the source material that you don't really need any familiarity with what came before it. It also works surprisingly well with a miscast Keanu Reeves in the leading role as John Constantine, an occult exorcist who fights demons because he's desperate to earn a place in Heaven. He's also running out of time for salvation thanks to his terminal lung cancer. 13 Must-Watch Sci-Fi Movies on HBO Max Right Now (December 2025) Constantine is drawn to police detective Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) following the suicide of her twin sister, Isabel (Weisz). For reasons Constantine doesn't understand, Angela has become the target of powerful demonic forces that want to bring Hell to Earth. And despite his magical abilities, stopping this apocalypse may be behind Constantine's power. Constantine is streaming on HBO Max. 'The Last Time I Saw Paris' (1954) Here's a little trivia for classic romance fans: The Oscar-winning song "The Last Time I Saw Paris" predates the movie that shares its name by 13 years, although it's also featured in this film. Elizabeth Taylor and Van Johnson star in this post-World War II romantic drama as Helen Ellswirth and Charles Wills, respectively. Following the end of the war, Charles finds himself in Paris and attracted to two women: Helen and her sister, Marion (Donna Reed). While it doesn't take Charles long to decide which of the sisters he really wants, there's no easy happy ending to be found here. The challenges they face threaten to tear apart a marriage and leave only heartbreak behind. The Last Time I Saw Paris is streaming on HBO Max.
