Brooklyn Beckham is reconciling with some members of his estranged family! But his parents David and Victoria are NOT among those select few. In fact, he's only pushing them further and further away! Amid the family's long and messy feud, we've heard that Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz asked his parents not to contact him or interact with him on social media (something the Spice Girls star quickly ignored, which got her blocked). According to The US Sun on Thursday, Brooklyn's lawyer sent the famous couple a "desist" letter requesting that they only contact him through his attorneys - and to not tag him on social media. WOW! An insider explained it wasn't any formal legal action, but it was certainly a warning: "To be clear, this was a request via lawyers, not a direct legal threat. But, naturally, it is an unprecedented move which shows just how bad things have become." It really does... It's believed to be the last formal contact between the parties, but it's not known how David and Victoria replied to it. Around that time, though, the Beckhams invited the aspiring chef to celebrate the soccer star's knighthood, which occurred this past November, and even extended an olive branch to Nicola by inviting her to a dinner. But Brooklyn viewed it as another example of his parents "gaslighting" him by trying to trick him into a PR opportunity. Sources insist the father just wanted his son there on his special day. This legal letter was sent out over the summer, a source added more details: "Truly, people do not know the full facts of this heart-breaking tale, and think Brooklyn was just being truculent when he blocked his parents. The reality is that he issued them with a letter at the end of last summer, asking for any correspondence to go via lawyers only, and wanted to try and make amends privately not publicly. He felt his parents continued to ignore his wishes and kept mentioning him online instead of reaching out privately." But when Victoria breached this legal request - along with weeks of frustration feeling like his family wasn't respecting his wishes - Brooklyn felt he had no choice but to block them online last month. Oof. Defending the parents, the same source mused: "For their part, David and Victoria have simply tried to let their beloved eldest son know the door is always open, and that they still care. After this letter, they had no other physical means of reaching out to him so what were they to do? They of course feel utterly bemused and devastated by this latest turn of events. There is no malice from their part, only concern. But it is clear, if there is going to be any reconciliation, it will be away from prying eyes and must be done privately. That's all anyone wants but, alas, seems a long, long way off given they are only now communicating through lawyers." We understand they want to extend olive branches, but if Brooklyn is giving them a path towards reconciliation, we'd think they'd do everything in their power to take it - and not make matters worse. Hmm. The good news is that Brooklyn HAS reconciled with some important family members - both sets of his grandparents! That's Victoria's parents Tony and Jackie, and David's 'rents, Ted and Sandra. The 26-year-old has had several calls and exchanged texts with them, including over the holidays, a confidant shared: "So he has reached out in his own time, but tried to keep it low-key so as not to drag them into it." It's nice he can rebuild those connections! As you can imagine, this remains a difficult time for the amateur photographer, who is leaning on his wife more than ever: "Brooklyn is navigating this soul-crushing family feud as best he can but it isn't easy on anyone.
