Mercedeh "MJ" Javid is trying her best to have an amicable split with estranged husband Tommy Feight. "I think it's, like, one of the most friendly separations. Knock on wood," MJ, 53, exclusively shared with Us Weekly before the Thursday, January 8, series premiere of The Valley: Persian Style. "Thank God there's wood right there." The former Shahs of Sunset star filed for divorce from Tommy, 54, in October 2025 after seven years of marriage. The pair share a 6-year-old son named Shams. "Shams gets the best of both of us. He sees us both all the time," MJ explained. "By design, we are still one family. What I'm trying to do with Shams is just to explain that we're still very together in every way that matters to our son - games, holidays, dinners, multiple times a week, hanging out at each other's house - just so that he can see in our actions that we just shouldn't be married, but we're still together." "It was his choice to include my mom in inviting her over for dinner, and that was really nice," she said. "We're figuring it out, and we all have a lot of brand new emotions, but I'm really proud of all of us." In December 2025, Us exclusively confirmed that MJ and Tommy worked out a custody deal. The next step is to finalize the divorce. As of now, it's too soon to predict a certain time frame. "Tommy and I have a schedule, and it was ratified in court, and that's huge," MJ shared. "That was really amicable, and it was what I wanted, and it's what he wanted. We were really happy to get through that." While the pair start off the season happily married, things are expected to change as the show progresses. "She's a mother now, and first and foremost is making sure her son is OK. This is not going to be an easy process for him at this age. That's his father, that's his mother and he loves both of them." As much as GG wants to take MJ's side "and talk s*** about Tommy," she is trying to remember that there's a child involved. "We all have to be a little bit cautious," she explained. "But oh, my God, [MJ's], like, 10 pounds lighter, literally. She has lost weight. The waist is snatched. The boobies are smaller. The neck is slim. She's shedding weight in a lot of places."
