A woman who lived near Spencer and Monique Tepe called 911 about someone "banging" on her door more than a week before the couple were shot to death at their Ohio home, according to police and a new report. Spencer, 37, who worked as a dentist, and Monique, 39, were found dead the morning of December 30 in their Columbus home, according to the Columbus Division of Police. Their young children were also found inside the home "unharmed," according to a police incident report previously viewed by Us Weekly. The Columbus Division of Police is searching for a person of interest, who the agency said was walking in an alley near Tepe's home between 2:00 and 5:00 that morning, the agency said on Monday, January 5. Authorities suspect that the Tepes were killed in that span of time. Family Member Speaks Out on 911 Call From Ohio Dentist's Home Before Killings Fox News reported that 11 days earlier, a woman "down the street" from the Tepes called 911 around 2:30 a.m. on December 19 about someone "smashing" on her door and potentially trying to break into her house. "I think they're trying to get in," the woman said, according to a 911 transcript obtained by Fox News. "They're banging on my doors." Call logs from the incident note that "the problem left" about 15 minutes after the woman called, the outlet reported. The woman told the 911 dispatcher that she did not know who was at her home, according to Fox News. Footage of the person of interest shared by police on January 30 shows a person wearing a black hoodie and pants that are light in color. Their hood is pulled up. Retired FBI special agent Harry Trombitas viewed the footage and told WSYX that "Certainly the person doesn't appear to be in a hurry, they feel confident in what they're doing, if in fact the person is involved." "Police must believe it must be someone who may have information on the case or be involved," Trombitas added while speaking with the TV station. A possible motive for the killing is unclear. Spencer and Monique were found dead in the upstairs of their home on December 30, according to police. Person of Interest in Ohio Couple's Deaths Was Seen Near Their Home: Video While official reports on the couple's deaths are pending, Jeremy Blake, the director of public affairs for the Franklin County Coroner's Office, previously told Us that "Currently, we would use the term apparent homicide by gunshot wounds." The Tepes had two children, a 1- and 4-year-old, WSYX reported. They are being cared for by family members. In an interview with the TV station, Rob Misleh, Monique's brother, said that "They're getting all the love and attention they possibly can at the moment." Misleh recently addressed reports of an April 911 call that came from a crying woman at the Tepe's home. Fox News, citing call records, reported that a woman called police about a "domestic dispute" and said "me and my man got into it." She then explained that she was "OK," according to the transcript shared by Fox News. Misleh said the call did not come from Monique. "It was 100% absolutely not her voice," Misleh previously told Us. The Columbus Division of Police encourages anyone with information on the person of interest to call 614-645-2228 or use the QR code shared in the agency's January 5 Facebook post. The agency said anonymous tips can also be called in to Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477. "Detectives are working diligently to solve this case," police said. "We will continue to update you as the investigation progresses."
