Patrick Swayze was survived by his wife and siblings after his tragic death. Swayze, best known for starring roles in Dirty Dancing and Ghost, died in September 2009 after battling pancreatic cancer. He was 54. "You know, when he first found out he had pancreatic cancer he turned to me and said, 'I'm a dead man,'" Swayze's wife, Lisa Niemi, recalled during a 2024 appearance on the "Amy and T.J." podcast. "I didn't know much about pancreatic cancer, but he did, and from what he knew anytime you heard someone had had pancreatic cancer it was like, 'Well, he's out of here.'" She continued, "Sure enough, the doctor said, 'You know, you can go ahead and treat it and be as aggressive as you want, but do think about getting your affairs in order sooner rather than later.'" "It brings up memories that are, you know, not all that pleasant," Niemi added at the time. "I know what these people feel like to fight for somebody they love. And to do it with a disease that has so little resources. It's like, 'Yeah, we all got to go at some point but give us a fighting chance.'" His credits include All Saints Day, Where the Wind Blows, On Swift Horses and Sons of Thunder. Vicki Lynn Swayze Patrick's sister Vicki Lynn died in 1994 at the age of 45. "Her death changed my life," the late actor told the Daily Mail in 2005. "It was hard not to feel responsible, that I could have done something to prevent it. I had to find something to believe in, outside of myself, to beat the guilt and blame I felt - particularly in Vicky's case. Sean Swayze Brother Sean died in December 2025 at the age of 63 following complications from liver disease. A death certificate obtained by TMZ confirmed that Sean died from an acute upper gastrointestinal bleed and severe metabolic acidosis brought on by cirrhosis of the liver, which is often caused by frequent alcohol use. Bambi Swayze Patsy and Jesse Wayne adopted daughter Bambi after welcoming their four older children. "My] younger siblings, Donny, Sean, and Bambi, also felt the constant pressure to perform in whatever activities they undertook," Patrick wrote in his book. "He's physically not here, [but] every day he's with me and I feel him there. I really fell in love with Albert, and ... it was interesting to see how it didn't affect my love for Patrick one bit."
