Axelle / Getty Images Ashley detailed her experience in a "toxic" mom group in an essay published on Jan. 1. She wrote that, at first, she "felt a sense of belonging" in the group, which included other working women who were also mothers. But over time, that began to change. Jean Baptiste Lacroix / Getty Images "I remember being left out of a couple of group hangs," Ashley wrote, "and I knew about them because Instagram made sure it fed me every single photo and Instagram Story. Another time, at one of the mom's dinner parties, I realized where I sat with her - which was at the end of the table, far from the rest of the women. I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me." Handout / Getty Images Ashley - who shares two daughters, Jupiter, 4, and Emerson, 1, with her husband Christopher French - said eventually she decided to confront the women about how she was being treated. She recalled sending a very direct text that said, "This is too high school for me and I don't want to take part in it anymore." Robin Marchant / Getty Images Although she didn't name anyone involved, fans quickly remembered that Ashley had previously spent time with a group of famous moms, including Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff, and Meghan Trainor. They also noticed that Ashley no longer appeared to be following Hilary or Mandy on Instagram. View this photo on Instagram @meghantrainor / Via Instagram: @undefined So far, Mandy and Hilary haven't addressed the situation directly - though Hilary's husband, Matthew Koma, did share a pointed post mocking Ashley, followed by a post from Mandy praising Matthew. Meanwhile, Meghan has now posted about the "drama" on TikTok. Monica Schipper / Getty Images On Thursday, the singer shared a video joking about her reaction to learning about the situation. She was seen sitting at a computer when she was startled by something she saw on her screen. Meghan then leaned in and began frantically typing, seemingly searching for more information. The text over the video said, "me finding out about the apparent mom group drama." Meghan Trainor / Via tiktok.com "☕️☕️☕️ #stilldontcare," she captioned the post, which was soundtracked to her song of the same name. The post quickly garnered over 20,000 likes and tons of comments. Peacock / Getty Images Some people thought it was funny. Meghan Trainor A few made jokes and laughed. Meghan Trainor But the majority seemed to criticize Meghan for fueling the "high school drama." "So this is what Ashley was talking about..." one person wrote in the comments. "The whole thing is like a high school drama," commented another. Eric Mccandless / Getty Images "Idk this kinda makes me believe Ashley," read a third comment. Someone else said, "They all being mean about Ashley now so that shows you Ashley was right." Meghan Trainor Another agreed, "This reaction, Hilarys hubby's reaction & Mandys reaction is giving high school." Meghan Trainor While one more said the song choice was definitely "giving mean girl." Meghan Trainor Ashley hasn't commented publicly since her essay, although her rep previously stated that she wasn't referring to any of the aforementioned women. BuzzFeed has reached out to her team for additional comment, and if we hear back, we'll let you know. Read
