Andrea Scarso, who joined IPR.VC in 2023 as partner and investment director, and leads the company's U.K. operations, has been promoted to managing partner. Founder and long-serving managing partner Timo Argillander is shifting into a newly defined role as full-time executive chairman, where he will focus on long-term growth and portfolio development. Group CFO Joonas Pönniö has been appointed chief operating officer at the group, with responsibility for the company's Luxembourg fund structures, operational processes and reporting. Founding partner and current board chairman Tanu-Matti Tuominen will remain on the board and take charge of investor relations, marketing and communications, while continuing as chairman of the investment committee. IPR.VC has financed more than 60 film and television projects through slate-level partnerships with U.S. and European producers and studios, including A24, XYZ Films, Anatomy of a Fall producer mk2 films, and Red Bull Studios, and has said it plans to grow assets under management by deepening ties with existing backers and expanding its institutional investor base. Among those investments is A24's award season-favorite Marty Supreme, on which Scarso and Argillander both serve as executive producers. The film forms part of a wider slate alliance with A24 that has also included investments over the past year in Materialists and Ari Aster's Eddington. IPR.VC's 2025 activity also included investments in titles such as Hallow Road, Ash, Get Away and Mile End Kicks from XYZ Films; Gentle Monster, Deli Love and Love Is Not The Answer from mk2 films; and the premium crime series Hildur, based on novels by Satu Rämö and produced with Take Two Studios and Sagafilm. The company is also building out its development pipeline through IPR LAB, a research and development arm launched in 2024 to identify IP-led investment opportunities across film, television and emerging content models, with its first projects set to be announced this year. Founded in 2014, IPR.VC operates as an alternative investment fund manager regulated by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority. In early 2025, the European Investment Fund committed €25 million ($29 million) to the firm's most recent fund, strengthening its position as the largest independent film and television investment fund manager in Europe.
