Luca Teuchmann / Getty Images She most recently starred as Jovie in the 2025 West End production of Elf, opposite her husband, Joel Montague, who played Buddy. Joel previously starred as King George III in Hamilton. Peter Nicholls / Getty Images Following their Elf run, Carrie and Joel took their daughter on vacation to Universal Studios in Florida, but it didn't get off to the warmest start. Taking to her Instagram story on Tuesday, Carrie explained that Mabel woke up at 3:30 a.m. jetlagged, confused, and "a bit unwell," and that she and Joel were doing "everything [they] could" to calm her down when security knocked on their door. Hard Rock Hotel, Orlando is not a family resort." "But I've been awake ever since wondering what would have happened had she kept crying. Second/ third warning = what? Removed from the hotel? With a 22 month old?" Instagram @carriehopefletcher / Via Instagram: @carriehopefletcher "Not the best start to our trip but onwards and upwards right?!" she added before quipping: "Also, not very 'hard rock' to issue a noise complaint to a toddler." Instagram @carriehopefletcher / Via instagram.com Neither Carrie nor Joel has commented any further on this particular situation, but judging by their latest Instagram activity, they've managed to overcome the unwelcoming start to the trip and are having a pretty amazing vacation.
