Love Is Blind season 5 alums Lydia Velez Gonzalez and Milton Johnson have finalized their divorce, Us Weekly can exclusively confirm. "I'm thrilled to announce that Milton and I are officially divorced," Lydia, 34, tells Us in a statement. "It was a fairytale marriage until it wasn't, and I wish him nothing but the very best. 2025 was a year of goodbyes, and 2026 will be a year to reset. I can't thank everyone enough for their love and support during the worst year of my life!" Weeks earlier, a source told Us that the pair's divorce had yet to be settled over lingering financial issues. "It has taken many months because with work and school being a priority, Milton delayed on his end," the insider told Us in December 2025. "But they are close to finalizing." Although the bombshell that she dated costar Uche Okoroha months before filming caused problems for Uche and his love interest Aaliyah Cosby, Milton did not let the revelation ruin his burgeoning relationship with Lydia. "I think [what] it really just comes down to is our values were the same," Milton exclusively told Us in September 2023. "We had the same morals, we wanted the same things out of life. From day one, it just kind of felt like a hit, just felt like a match. So, we just wanted to really pursue that and see where it could take us." The couple initially bonded over their careers - Lydia is a geologist, while Milton works as an engineer. Though their seven-year age gap caused Lydia to pump the brakes at one point in their romance, the two kept coming back to each other. "I think the thing that I liked most about Lydia is [that] we're so similar in a lot of different ways when it comes to what industry we work in and we're both born on islands, but when it comes to our emotional intelligence and being vulnerable, we're on the complete opposite end of the spectrum," Milton explained to Us. "And that's something I really value because there's a part of me that understands like, 'Hey, maybe this is abnormal. Maybe I am a little bit too emotionally reserved.'" "Then after the pods, just like any relationship, there's work [you need to put in to maintain the bond]," he added. Lydia and Milton ultimately tied the knot during the season finale, which aired in October 2023, and became the only successful couple from the show's fifth season. Later that month, Lydia revealed that they had a long-distance marriage as Milton had moved to Long Beach, California, for his job while she remained in Houston, Texas, for hers. "We just miss each other so much, so every second that we have together, we try to really cherish it and try to be there as much as we can for each other when we are actually in the same place," Lydia told Entertainment Weekly in October. "The challenge is just traveling in airports. I hate airports so much, but besides that, it's been amazing." After two years of marriage, Lydia announced that she and Milton separated. He loved me for who I was, and that was my premise of being on the show [and] being loved for who I was not and not be called 'too much.' Now, I am called 'too much.'" Lydia further claimed started noticing little things in her marriage that felt "very disrespectful." "He would never compliment me," she claimed, alleging that Milton never commented on her social media snaps. "He should be like, 'That's my woman,' and [nothing]. ... It's a lot, and then when people around you notice [and] it just kept showing up and showing up." While Milton never addressed Lydia's podcast claims, he responded to her divorce petition in September 2025 and accused his now-ex of "cruel treatment." "The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between [Milton] and [Lydia] that destroys the legitimate end of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation," Milton's lawyer claimed.
