Agents from the U.S. Marshals Service have arrested a 34-year-old mother after they found her two missing children in Manitou Springs, Colorado, in December 2025. The U.S. Marshals said that the two children, who are 3 years old and 12 years old, were reported missing from Connecticut back on October 16, 2025. Amid the search for the kids, their mother, Angela Hunt, was arrested on December 19, 2025, at a residence near US 24 and Manitou Avenue in Manitou Springs, according to KKTV. At the time of her arrest, officials searched the home and also found the two kids at the residence. Once the children were found safe, they were taken by Child Protective Services and remain in CPS custody as of time of publication. Meanwhile, Hunt was taken to the El Paso County Jail in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Hunt was no longer in custody at time of publication, according to online jail records viewed by Us Weekly. It is not currently clear if she has entered any pleas or retained legal representation in light of her arrest. Colorado Mother Who Murdered Her 2 Kids Extradited to U.S. From London Fox21 reported that Hunt posted a Personal Recognizance bond of $3,000 on December 23, 2025, and she was scheduled to appear in El Paso County Court on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 6. "This arrest and recovery demonstrate the critical importance of interagency cooperation when it comes to protecting children," U.S. Marshal for the District of Colorado Kirk Taylor said in a statement, per KKTV. "By working together across state lines, our partners were able to safely locate these children and take a fugitive into custody." Following the arrest, many of the local residents expressed their shock over the incident. "You never know your neighbors, everybody's kind of crazy," neighbor Kate Palmer, who witnessed the arrest, told Fox21. Another witness who saw the arrest go down added, "We weren't expecting it at all. So, I think the few times that I've seen her, I would have never expected that at all." Witnesses also confirmed to the outlet that Hunt was living at El Colorado Lodge prior to her arrest. "They're short-term rentals. So, I think if she was here for that long, she may have just been booking it for several months," one witness said. Police Searching for Mom After Her 3-Month-Old Daughter Drowned in Bathtub Officials were able to locate the kids after they set out on an extensive cooperative investigation between the U.S. Marshals Colorado Violent Offender Task Force, the U.S. Marshals Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Branford Police Department, the Manitou Springs Police Department and the Colorado Department of Corrections, per Fox21. "I'm just like, Whoa! Over state lines? Kidnaping? That's crazy to me. It didn't even cross my mind that that was even a possibility. I'm like, right across the street, which is like, kind of insane," Palmer said of the arrest efforts. Meanwhile, another neighbor said he noticed a strange man walking around the property before Hunt's arrest. "I think like two or three undercover cop cars pulled up and they arrested the woman who was inside the house," he said.
