Ice-T is fully on board with wife Coco Austin making another guest appearance on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. "Coco has been on the show for three episodes," Ice-T told Us Weekly exclusively at the Law & Order 25th Anniversary Celebration in New York City on Tuesday, January 6. "She's good." The actor - who has played Fin Tutuola on SVU since 2000 - recalled the moment his wife was cast on the show. "It was funny," he recalled. "They were doing a show, and they were like, 'Well, we want a girl. We need a blonde. We need a girl with some big boobs, kind of like Coco. Like, why don't we just use Coco?' That's how it started." Ice-T Thinks 'Law and Order: SVU' Has the Potential to Hit 30 Seasons He added, "Before you know it, she's in another one, and she's in another one." Austin, 46, made her SVU debut in 2004, two years after she wed Ice-T. Her second appearance came in 2007, with the third following in 2012. Ice-T told Us that Austin is "ready to go" if another guest appearance is thrown her way. "In my household, when she's running lines - that's crazy, though," he continued. "We practice a lot, because I tell her, 'Once we hit the set, I can't talk to you. I can't coach you. Now you're in the hands of the director.' I'm not, 'Hey, Coco. Do it like this.' I can't do that. So, we rehearse, rehearse, rehearse." Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for Tribeca Festival Ice-T said "it's important" to Austin that she does well on the show. "The only reason you know you do well is you get called back," he said. Ice-T also reflected on his own SVU journey, joking that the one thing his character hasn't done yet is "a porno" - but don't expect to see that any time soon. "You can't see that on television," he quipped. "I'm pretty sure few people might want to see it, but Coco gets to see it." Ice-T Questions Mariska Hargitay About SVU's Benson and Stabler's Near-Kiss Mostly, Ice-T is just looking forward to the show getting renewed for its 28th season. "I would love that," he said. "This year, they took my workload down, which is cool. I got a lot of things. I started my own network, I got other things going. But I was like, 'Well, are you getting rid of me?' They're like, 'No, no, no.' I said, 'Because I want to get to season 28.'" Ice-T previously said "business" was the reason that his character hasn't been on the show that much this year. "They brought Kelli [Giddish] back, and at the end of the day, they couldn't really keep both of us on full-time, as far as budget-wise," he told TMZ in November 2025. Despite his adjusted episode count, the actor is still hopeful that the show will go on. (The show is currently on its 27th season.) "I think we can make it to season 30. I let them make their calls and make their moves and stuff, but I think we could do it," he continued. "I think as long as Mariska [Hargitay] wants to keep doing it, we'll be doing it." The Law & Order franchise returns to NBC with new episodes starting Thursday, January 8.
