It also has one semi-confounding executive producer in Max Joseph, the Catfish guy. Sam Richardson (Veep) and Vanessa Bayer (Saturday Night Live) will also star on the show, which will be showrun by Gabe Liedman (Brooklyn Nine-Nine). Kroll will write with Liedman; the duo will executive produce with Joseph and Alex Plapinger. Joseph created Catfish: The TV Show along with Nev Schulman and his brother Ariel Schulman. It's not weird that Joseph is a producer here, but it could confuse Catfish viewers: Joseph morphed from co-creator to cameraman to basically a co-host of the hit MTV series, an adaptation of Nev Schulman's 2010 movie of the same name. Still Sounds Very Open to a Paramount Deal -- at a Higher Price Tag Catfish, the movie (and then subsequently the TV show), first coined the term "catfishing," defined as "the practice of deceiving someone online by means of a fictional or assumed persona, especially with the aim of luring them into a relationship." That's what very much happened to Nev in real life, as chronicled in the documentary film. Joseph's non-Catfish credits include writing 2015's We Are Your Friends and directing 2024 miniseries Happiness. MTV/Courtesy Everett Collection A Hundred Percent is a half-hour comedy about a group of friends working inside the Thought Leader industrial complex, per Netflix. Their books, podcasts and morning routines might help us live our lives more perfectly, but away from the screens and mics, they are most definitely far from perfect. "Picture me doing the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders' 'Thunderstruck' flawlessly right now because that's how I feel," Liedman said in a statement, presumptively between kick lines. "This team, Netflix and this cast?! I feel especially lucky to be working with Nick again, and I promise to do my best to bring you all something nuts to watch very soon." "I am thrilled to make this show with Gabe and this insane cast," Kroll said. "I can't wait to explore this high-functioning group of friends who endeavor to live their weird lives!" The series marks another reunion for Kroll: he and Liedman co-created Netflix's animated comedy series Big Mouth together. It ran for eight seasons.
