HBO renewed the late night talk show through 2028, with season 24 premiering Jan. 23 (airing from 10 to 11 p.m. ET/PT) on HBO and also available to stream on HBO Max. The long-running show features Maher delivering a comedic, often satirical opening monologue, along with one-on-one interviews and roundtable discussions that often centre on current events, as well as the final "New Rules" segment that ends every show. He headlined his first special on HBO in 1989 and has also starred in 13 HBO solo specials to date. He is nominated for a Golden Globe Award for his most recent comedy special, Bill Maher: Is Anyone Else Seeing This? Maher is an executive producer of the show, alongside Sheila Griffiths, Dean Johnsen, Billy Martin and Marc Gurvitz. Chris Kelly is a co-executive producer, with producer Matt Wood. Paul Cas is the director. These days, Maher splits his time between HBO and his basement - literally. Maher hosts a popular video podcast titled Club Random. The format features Maher drinking and/or smoking pot while conducting a long-form, casual interview with a celebrity. (Sometimes, those who also partake in recreational drug and alcohol use.) The only thing more "random" than where the conversation often veers is the room's furniture stylings. Club Random has nearly 750,000 subscribers on YouTube, and its top episodes can reach six digits in views. Tony Maglio contributed to this report.
