Justin Baldoni thinks Blake Lively was trying to set him "up for a trap" during their sex scenes on It Ends With Us! As Perezcious readers know, the co-stars have been battling it out in court ever since the Gossip Girl alum accused the director of sexual harassment and retaliation on set of the Colleen Hoover flick. He's fought back hard, and they're now awaiting trial to hash out all the accusations. New documents were just filed by Blake's management company WME on Monday, in which they requested the court keep texts and other private communications sealed... while also revealing new texts from the case! Obtained by Us Weekly, the texts show Justin and his ex-WME agent Danny Greenberg discussing the "brutal" on-set issues between the co-workers. The texts date back to December 30, 2023. At the time, Justin was completely fed up with his leading lady - who was putting him in an uncomfortable position on set, he alleged: "Hey man, had a really really bad week. She [Lively] had the audacity to email me directly and invite me to a meeting at her house alone if I chose." That's never gone well for them.... The message continued: "She's refused a body double which now Sony [the film's distributor] and Todd [Black, a producer on the film] have to jump in to make sure that happens because that's just setting me up for a trap. Although she's making me have one." And he did have one. Justin's body double, Thomas Canestraro, previously said he experienced a ton of "discomfort from everybody" on set. Oof. He also argued that Blake was rejecting all his ideas for their sex scenes: "She's rejected all my Story Boards for the sex scenes ... she's trying to keep all of ... our clothes on for the big love scene, which is just ridiculous if you know the book. The whole thing is just a gigantic cluster f**k and yet I'm doing my best to stay positive, although it's been very draining on me and time-consuming over this break to be dealing with an actress who is rewriting the writer and Director." In an update, the Jane the Virgin alum claimed he had done a ton of revisions to make Blake happy, adding: "I've gone through the whole script, I'm giving her 95 percent of what she wants for peace but this is just a brutal experience." He then had a few exchanges with his former agent about possible mediation options and alleged Ryan Reynolds' wife had pushed back on Wayfarer Productions' CEO Jamey Heath being present on the film set, which the director was "fighting back on." He expressed: "I'm doing my best to just stay positive and give her as many wins as possible to just finish this thing but it's gonna be tough at some point Warren [Zavala, a WME talent agent] needs to know that she is destroying her reputation." And he feared the biggest challenge was still ahead of him: "Where we will need the most help is during the edit because I'm not going to get everything she wants and I foresee that being a big issue." Just five days after this text thread, Blake called for an in-person meeting with Justin, Sony exec Ange Gianetti, producers Todd Black and Alex Saks, and Wayfarer Studios CEO Jamey Heath. That's the meeting in which they discussed list of demands she required to be met before she continued filming, many directed at Justin and Jamey, which they had agreed upon in writing in mid-November 2023. In response to these text messages, a source close to the A Simple Favor star told Page Six: "These messages were sent only after Blake had laid out in detail the numerous ways that Baldoni and Heath had created a hostile work environment on the set, after they agreed to more than a dozen 'protections' for the safety of the cast and crew, and just days ahead of the January 4 meeting at which these protections would be discussed before filming resumed." The insider went on: "The text chain underscores Baldoni's retaliatory intent. It reflects his private anger over the same safeguards that he had said in public were both 'reasonable' and 'essential,' and which he later admitted in his deposition were reasonable, including his resentment for having to show up to an 'all hands' meeting he had also agreed to." Hmm... This remains a messy situation! Thoughts?? Let us know (below).
