The Lowdown follows Lee, a self-proclaimed truthstorian, bookstore owner and citizen journalist as he tries to expose corruption and dirty dealing in his hometown of Tulsa. The first season centered on Lee's investigation of gubernatorial candidate Donald Washberg (Kyle MacLachlan) and his family following the death of Donald's brother Dale (Tim Blake Nelson). After the season ended, Harjo told THR that he hoped to keep exploring both Lee and the world around him. "I've thought about many seasons of this show," he said. "I've thought about other projects - there was always an idea of going deeper into Oklahoma and some of these relationships that Lee has made in the first season. ... I have ideas. I was telling somebody, The Rockford Files did it every episode. We could do every season." The season one cast also featured Keith David, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Michael "Killer Mike" Render, Kaniehtiio Horn, Tracy Letts, Peter Dinklage and the late Graham Greene. The Lowdown comes from FX Productions. Harjo created the series and executive produces with Garrett Basch, Ethan Hawke, Ryan Hawke and Duffy Boudreau.
