According to Ashley, she noticed she was getting left out of the hangouts, which upset her. And while she didn't think her former pals were "bad people," except for "maybe one," she ultimately realized she needed to cut ties with them because the "dynamic stopped being healthy and positive." On the other side, we later learned her former friends iced out Ashley for a reason! They reportedly felt like she wasn't there for them, especially when a few lost their homes during the LA wildfires, and her political views made them feel "uncomfortable." Yeesh! Everyone quickly caught on that Ashley was possibly talking about her famous mom group, which includes Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, and Meghan Trainor. The evidence? They used to hang out with each other a lot, even going on vacations together. However, it appears Ashley hasn't been to the group events in a minute. She also no longer follows Mandy, Hilary, and another member, Samii Ryan. Look, everyone knows unfollowing people is a major tell! All the signs show she ditched this mom group, but her rep is trying really hard to shut down the narrative. They insisted that the rumors that the article is about those specific celebs are untrue. Regardless, some fans related to what Ashley had to say in general. But others, especially Jenna Bush Hager and Matt Rodgers? They weren't huge fans! In fact, they are calling the He Said She Said singer a hypocrite! During Today With Jenna & Friends on Tuesday, the pair sat down to discuss Ashley's article for The Cut. Matt mentioned that the 40-year-old actress felt left out of the group after seeing pictures posted on social media from events that they had not invited her to. It is an unfortunate experience. But for the podcast host, he got the sense while reading the article that she was just trying to "get back at these women," and it felt "hypocritical" to air out their dirty laundry so publicly: "It's kind of a little bit hypocritical to me to then put this out on social media when those women are well known and could be targeted by it." Jenna couldn't agree more, adding: "Everything is public, right? The 'feeling left out' is public because of social media, but also the fact that she wrote an article and made it public... Good for her for telling her truth. But I also think private conversations are more and more important - speaking your truth to the people that have hurt you should be enough." At the same time, Matt understands the "instinct to stunt on people" and "do something back" to people who've wronged you, asserting that "it always does feel good when you have the truth on your side." But do we really know what happened? Jenna pointed out: "How do we know the truth? We weren't at the kid's birthday party." This is true!
