"One thing that's really, really interesting is that I've been in it for 16 seasons," Roberson shared in Us Weekly's exclusive sneak peek of the Wednesday, January 7, episode of the "What's the Reality" podcast. "What's happening right now is we're actually at a point where we're passing the torch to new experts now that we're on Peacock." On Tuesday, January 6, Variety broke the news that Roberson, Dr. Pepper Schwartz and Dr. Pia Holec will not return for the show's 20th season. A new group of experts are expected to be announced at a later date. All the 'Married at First Sight' Couples Still Together Today "We're thrilled to be embarking on a brand new chapter of the MAFS journey with our partners at Peacock. We're excited for the future and honored to have worked alongside Dr. Pepper, Pastor Cal and Dr. Pia," Kinetic CEO and executive producer Chris Coelen said in a statement to Us on Tuesday. "Dr. Pepper has been with us from the beginning and Pastor Cal joined us shortly thereafter; their unwavering wisdom, insight and passion has been a guiding light for us throughout the seasons." While chatting with podcast host and Love Is Blind alum Amber Desiree "AD" Smith, Roberson said he's excited about what's to come. "I'm on to some bigger and better things," he shared in Us' sneak peek. "I wish the new experts the best and I think the show is going to be taking on a different turn and I think this is just a part of the evolution of the show." Pastor Cal Roberson Peacock Roberson added with a laugh, "We're passing the torch and the new experts will be coming on. They won't be me." Married at First Sight is a reality show where participants agree to get matched up with their future spouse, thanks to the help of a variety of experts. Once they are matched, they agree to get married to their spouse with their first meeting being held at the wedding altar. 'Married at First Sight' Stars Write Valentine's Day Notes to Their Spouse Roberson joined the show in 2016 before season 4. Schwartz, who is a sociologist, has been a part of the series since its 2014 debut. As for Holec, the intimacy and relationship specialist joined the show ahead of season 15 in 2022. While season 19 of Married at First Sight, which aired on its new home of Peacock, didn't have any couples stay together after the reunion, the show has resulted in several successful marriages and even more babies. "Serving as the spiritual advisor and relationship coach on Married at First Sight has been one of the great honors of my life," Roberson said in a statement to Variety. "I want to thank every single person brave enough to sign up for MAFS. You allowed me into some of the most sacred moments of your lives, and I never took that lightly. Your courage, honesty and willingness to believe in the process reminded me time and again why this work matters. Thank you for trusting us with your love stories."
