Wait, Ashley Tisdale's former pals weren't the "toxic" ones after all??? If you missed it, the 40-year-old actress was part of a celebrity mom group for many years. However, she revealed in two personal essays that she ditched her pals because they became "toxic" and exhibited "mean-girl behavior" toward her by excluding her from several group hangs. As Ashley wrote in a piece for The Cut last week, she started to question if she was "not cool enough" or if she did something "'wrong' to be left out" all of a sudden. Ashley made it clear she did not think the moms are "bad people," except for "maybe one," but felt she needed to leave because the "dynamic stopped being healthy and positive." The mom of two did not reveal the identities of her former friends, but it did not take everyone long to figure out she was likely talking about Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff, and Meghan Trainor. They all used to hang out with each other a lot, even going on vacations together. However, Ashley stopped appearing in the social media pics of the mom group hangouts. She also unfollowed Mandy and Hilary. So, it sounds like the article is about them! Well, wrong - at least according to her rep! They denied the rumors to TMZ on Monday. Hmm. Regardless, details are missing here... the pals' side of the story. We know Ashley's, but what about the friends? Why did they distance themselves from the High School Musical alum to begin with? There had to be a reason, right? Or are they really just a group full of mean girls, cutting people out when they feel like it? Well, according to those who were part of Ashley's circle, it sounds like she was really talking about her mom group with Mandy, Hilary, and Meghan - and they aren't to blame for the falling out here! It's actually the Be Good to Me singer! A source close to the mom group claimed to The US Sun on Monday that they did not start distancing themselves from Ashley out of the blue. The insider said she was "slowly slipping away" from her friends "for years," and a big reason for that was because her politics don't align with many of them: "It wasn't an overnight thing. Her politics don't align with a lot of the group members, which drove a wedge between them." However, that wasn't what broke the relationship for good. The final straw for the group was her response to the devastating LA wildfires last year - or lack thereof. Several members of the group, including Mandy, lost their homes due to the tragedy. But if you believe this source, Ashley supposedly didn't check in on any of them! Not even to offer to help like Hilary did! The source continued: "But the big straw that broke the camel's back was how Ashley responded to the group about the LA wildfires last year. Multiple members of the group were impacted, some worse than others, and Ashley hardly checked in. She didn't offer to help with the means she has. She just lived her own life, didn't check in to see how they were doing, and her friends felt abandoned by her." That's not a good look for the Disney Channel darling! Oof! Moreover, they felt Ashley was a bit self-absorbed and only cared about what "benefited her" in the long run: "Her friends felt the amount of self-absorption she showed just got worse, and it was impossible to maintain a friendship with her since it was so one-sided. It seemed like she was only interested in things that benefited her or suited her interests." Damn. As we mentioned, her political views really didn't help matters. The insider went on to say: "Some of Ashley's comments about politics and even a select few of her social media posts made moms in the group feel uncomfortable with her by association. It created an extremely toxic dynamic. They questioned her morals and what she believes in." We wonder if this has something to do with her Charlie Kirk post... FWIW, her rep insisted she is not a Republican despite what some may think. She is a registered Democrat. Ashley also took a moment to clear up her views following the Kirk controversy, saying: "It shouldn't be controversial to say this, but even when we disagree or find someone's views offensive, violence is never the answer. And to be clear, I stand for equal rights for everyone - women's rights, voting rights, LGBTQ+ rights. Everyone. I also support protecting reproductive rights and implementing common-sense gun laws." Then what did Ashley supposedly say behind closed doors that made her pals question "her morals and what she believes in?" Hmm. The Sun insider also pointed out that the mom pals aren't the only one that cut ties with Ashley for these reasons: "It's not just this mom group that's experienced this behavior from Ashley. Vanessa Hudgens drifted apart from her for the same reasons." Remember, the once-close friends have been feuding over the pa
