The Kennedy Family gathered to pay their respects to relative Tatiana Schlossberg. A service for Tatiana, who was the daughter of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg, was held at The Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola on New York City's Upper East Side on Monday, January 5, per People. The ceremony was private and blocked off by police on the streets surrounding the church. The outlet reported that several members of the Kennedy family were present, including extended family Kerry Kennedy and Joe Kennedy III. Tatiana's husband, George Moran, and their two kids, Edwin, 3, and Josephine, 19 months, attended as well. Former late night host David Letterman and Carolina Herrera, who designed Tatiana's wedding dress, were also seen entering the church. "Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts," the JFK Library Foundation shared on December 30, 2025, in a statement via Instagram signed by her husband, children, parents, siblings, Jack and Rose Schlossberg and sister-in-law Rory Schlossberg. Tatiana revealed in a November 2025 essay for The New Yorker that she had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia one year prior. "I did not - could not - believe that they were talking about me. I had swum a mile in the pool the day before, nine months pregnant. I wasn't sick. I didn't feel sick. I was actually one of the healthiest people I knew," she wrote. "I had a son whom I loved more than anything and a newborn I needed to take care of." She also did a clinical trial of CAR-T-cell therapy before learning her cancer was terminal. Tatiana reflected on how much she struggled with knowing her time with her children was limited. "My first thought was that my kids, whose faces live permanently on the inside of my eyelids, wouldn't remember me," she wrote in the essay. "My son might have a few memories, but he'll probably start confusing them with pictures he sees or stories he hears. I didn't ever really get to take care of my daughter - I couldn't change her diaper or give her a bath or feed her, all because of the risk of infection after my transplants. I was gone for almost half of her first year of life. I don't know who, really, she thinks I am, and whether she will feel or remember, when I am gone, that I am her mother." Maria Shriver, who is the daughter of John F. Kennedy's sister Eunice Kennedy, shared a statement via social media following her cousin's death. "I cannot make sense of this. I cannot make any sense of it at all. None. Zero," Shriver wrote via Instagram. "Tatiana was a great journalist, and she used her words to educate others about the earth and how to save it. She created a beautiful life with her extraordinary husband George, and children Eddie and Josie. She fought like a warrior. She was valiant, strong [and] courageous." On Monday, the Kennedy family shared a new photo with Tatiana following her passing. "As we remember Tatiana and celebrate her life, our hearts are with her family and all who loved her," read the caption of an Instagram post shared by the JFK Library Foundation.
