Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, are officially parents. "December 29, 2025. Everley Capri Hough 🤍," Hough, 40, wrote via Instagram on Monday, January 5, alongside a black-and-white photo of his and Erbert's hands cupping their baby girl's feet. "Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed." Erbert, 31, also shared the post via her Instagram Stories with a tearing up emoji and a white heart. Hough's sister Julianne reacted to the family's big news on Monday, commenting, "Welcome to the world sweet angel Everley 💗." Julianne also shared the post via her Instagram Story and added, "Baby girl has arrived." Hough and Erbert began dating in 2015 and announced their engagement in June 2022. One year later, the couple tied the knot in August 2023. After nearly two years of marriage, Erbert revealed via Instagram in July 2025 that she was expecting her first baby with Hough. "At the end of last night's tour performance in Washington, D.C., my wife, Hayley, became disoriented and was taken to the hospital," Hough said in a statement at the time. "She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy." Later that month, Erbert underwent cranioplasty surgery to replace a large portion of her skull that was removed during the craniectomy. After the successful operation, Hough shared via Instagram that Erbert was "on the path to a full recovery." "Ironically, I'm talking about how precious life is and how to savor this short time that we have here and the loved ones we have," Hough recounted of the speech he was giving the audience while waiting for Erbert to join him for their dance routine. "And as I'm saying those words, not really realizing it, Hayley was on the side of the stage, having seizures and essentially dying." Erbert, meanwhile, has little memory of that night's show. "I just remember being on stage," she told Us. "I do remember being in a lot of pain ... [but] I remember dancing, and then my world just went black." "I was told ... she might not survive, and even if she does, she most likely won't be the same person," the Dancing With the Stars judge said. "That was a devastating moment. When people say your whole world comes crashing down, I think it's accurate because it really feels like that. That room just falls on you." Although Erbert described "relearning how to live" during her recovery as "one of the most difficult times of my life," she and Hough were determined to "appreciate life so much more" after she overcame the ordeal. "I could [have sat there] and just been 'poor me' all day long, every single day," she said. "But I was like, no - there's so much beauty in this life still. And I want to live for it."
