Police allege that a mother in Tennessee fatally shot three of her family members - including her 2 young sons - before dying by suicide. Humphreys County Sheriff's Office were asked to conduct a welfare check on Friday, January 2, at the Waverly home of nurse Heather Thompson, and found her and three others dead from gunshot wounds, according to WSMV. The other victims found in the home were identified as her sons, 4-year-old Arius Thompson and 13-year-old Isaiah Johnson, and grandmother, 88-year-old Evelyn Johnson. Sheriff Chris Davis said the police department currently believes that Heather killed the three victims before she died by suicide, according to WSMV. According to WKRN, all four of the deceased were longtime residents of Humphreys County. "Here again, small town America. Here again, I know the families. So, we're going to do right by them," Davis said at a press conference following the deaths. Mom Claims Son Was 'Growling' at Her Before She Killed Him, Shot Siblings While not much is known about the killings, investigators do not believe the bodies were in the home for a long amount of time before they were discovered. Davis revealed that Heather was estranged from her sons' father, per WKRN. Additionally, investigators reportedly found no history of domestic violence or mental health-related calls to the home prior to the incident. On the same day the bodies were found, the sheriff's office confirmed the incident in a Facebook post. "Humphreys County Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, are currently conducting a death investigation on East Little Richland Road in the Waverly area," the post read. "We will be on scene for an undetermined amount of time. Please avoid the area as it's congested. We do not have any active threats to our area related to this case." Biah Thompson, whom Heather shared her children with, set up a GoFundMe following their deaths "to bring my boys back home to New Mexico from Tennessee." The father also took to Facebook to share the donation page, where he reflected on the tragedy. "As a father it hurt and shattered my soul to hear my sons, Arius (Ari) and Isaiah have been taken from me and are no longer with us. They were just babies," he wrote. "Every second of today I wish I could just wake up." Meanwhile, another GoFundMe page was set up by Heather's sister, Michelle Dahmous. "As many of you know some may not my sister took her life and the life of her two precious children. Unfortunately money is tight at the moment and as you all know funerals are expensive, she also lives in Tennessee and gas is not cheap, so I'm reaching out for help as I can not do this alone," she wrote. "I'm asking you to please help me lay these beautiful souls to rest. I know money is tight especially after the holidays for everyone so anything you can help donate is so deeply appreciated. Thank you all in advance." If you or someone you know is in emotional distress or considering suicide, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
