Sophie Turner got real about the guilt she feels balancing work and being there for her daughters. "The mum guilt is there forever," the actress, 29, said in an interview with Net-a-Porter's Porter published on Monday, January 5. "I work all week and then, on the weekends, I'll spend all day with my kids each day." Turner, who shares daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, with ex-husband Joe Jonas, added she experiences the same gut-wrenching feeling when out and about with friends. "But if I go out for lunch with a friend, I will run back home because my heart is sinking that I've left them," she shared. Sophie Turner Makes Rare Comment About Dating Life That feeling also translates into her dating life, as she's focused solely on work and being a mom right now. "I mean, I haven't seen my friends or gone on a date in weeks, months!" she confessed. "I just sack off parts of my life sometimes. I only have the capacity for work and family right now." Turner noted that she is "working on" making time for friendships and a love life. (The Game of Thrones alum was most recently linked to Coldplay singer Chris Martin.) "I'll get there," she said. Turner explained that while she does feel guilty about working so much, she also wants to be a positive influence for her children. "In order to be a great role model for them, I have to have a passion for myself," she shared. "I love that they see me going out to work every day and working my arse off." Turner credited her daughters for reigniting her love for acting thanks to the activities they do at home. "They love making up plays. I've got the joy and the childlike-ness of it back, which is so nice," she reflected. "[Although] they still want to play Disney princesses, where the prince comes and kisses them on the cheek. And I'm like, 'No, YOU can save the prince!'" In addition to teaching her daughters to think creatively, Turner has given them the tools to healthily express their feelings - which has also helped her. "If you have these overwhelming emotions, how do you get it out? That's something I've never really been able to figure out how to do for myself. So, I'm teaching my kids and we're trying different things," she told the outlet. "And then it's like they're teaching me how to self-soothe or to process an emotion." Sophie Turner Shares Text About Life's 'Series of Endings and Beginnings' Turner has experienced her fair share of ups and downs in recent years. In September 2023, Turner and Jonas, 36, split after four years of marriage. The pair faced off in a custody battle over their daughters before finalizing their divorce in September 2024. "As stressed as I am, I know I can get through it. That's the good thing about having a relatively hard twenties: I learned that I can survive a lot," Turner reflected on Monday. "I'm like, there's pressure, there's stress, but I've been through worse. I have to remind myself that we're very malleable and we can take on a lot more than we think we can." As Turner focuses on what's next ahead, her main priority is having "peace." "I feel like it's been really hectic for a long time and I'm ready to not have that anymore. Just settle a bit," she said. "We'll see if that happens."
