From viral books on BookTok to old favorites, 2026 will see a number of both new and older books reimagined for the big and small screens. Among the novels set to come to life onscreen are Emily Henry's romance bestseller People We Meet on Vacation (the first from the author's book universe getting the adaptation treatment); Emily Brontë's classic Wuthering Heights being reimagined with a rather sensual version starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi; and a return to the Hunger Games world with another prequel based on the Sunrise on the Reaping novel that chronicles a younger Haymitch (played by Woody Harrelson in the franchise.) This year, audiences will also see stories from Colleen Hoover, Andy Weir, Agatha Christie and Nicholas Sparks (joining forces with M. Night Shyamalan) jump from the bookshelves to screen. There are also several upcoming adaptations announced, but the release dates have yet to be revealed including The Love Hypothesis, The God of the Woods, Vladimir, Forever season 2 (reimagining of the Judy Blume novel), season 3 of Maxton Hall, season 3 of My Life with the Walter Boys, among others.
