Malayalam cinema woke up to a wave of shock and sadness on Saturday morning as news broke of actor and mimicry artist Kalabhavan Navas's untimely death. The 51-year-old was found unresponsive in his hotel room near Chottanikkara, Ernakulam, on Friday night, where he had been staying for a film shoot. Despite immediate efforts by the hotel staff to rush him to a nearby hospital, he was declared dead on arrival. Authorities suspect a cardiac arrest as the cause of death. An autopsy is being conducted, after which his mortal remains will be handed over to his family.
