But when the two women impulsively travel to Brooklyn one night, their relationship becomes frayed after Tully suggests she's taking another job. Can Marlo survive without Tully to help her? Tully is largely a domestic drama that takes a bizarre turn late in the third act. I won't tell you what happens, but instead of being a M. Night Shyamalan cheap twist, it actually adds another complex layer to everything you've just watched. As the overwhelmed mother, Theron gives one of her best performances of her career. Marlo wants to be a good mom, but with little sleep and no real excitement in her life, she can barely be a functional person. Most mothers will recognize themselves in Marlo, but her disappointment in how her life has turned out is universally relatable, too. Tully is streaming on Prime Video. 'About a Boy' (2002) Hugh Grant has never been nominated for an Oscar, but he absolutely deserved to be recognized for his great performance in the winning 2002 dramedy, About a Boy. He plays Will Freeman, a posh Londoner whose aimless, luxurious lifestyle is funded entirely by the royalties from his deceased father's cheesy hit Christmas song. His carefree lifestyle is interrupted one day when 12-year-old Marcus (Nicholas Hoult) enters his life. Bullied, friendless and hopelessly awkward, Marcus attaches himself to a reluctant Will, who helps the kid out by giving him tips on being cool. When a woman he likes, Rachel (Rachel Weisz), assumes Marcus is his son, Will goes along with the deception. But how long can he pretend to be someone he's not?
