A man in Missouri was arrested after he allegedly killed his grandmother and stabbed her two French bulldogs, which resulted in a brief standoff with police. Ronald Allred was booked on Monday, December 29, and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection to the death of his grandmother, Fannie Allred, according to online records. He was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of animal abuse for stabbing Fannie's dogs. St. Louis County police officers responded to a home on Jenny Drive in St. Louis, Missouri, shortly before 11 a.m. on Sunday, December 28, according to a news release from the department. Fannie's daughter called police after she discovered her mother "unresponsive and face down on the floor, surrounded by blood." Fannie was stabbed six times in the head, neck and chest, according to the release. Additionally, Fannie's two French bulldogs were also stabbed during the attack, though they "are expected to be OK." He left the home and was later found at a gas station on Union Boulevard around 3 p.m. After Ronald was located, he got into a two-hour standoff with police. He was then taken into custody without incident, though was also hit with a charge of resisting arrest due to the standoff. Ronald eventually confessed to stabbing his grandmother and the dogs during a police interview, according to the criminal complaint. He is currently being held on a $500,000 cash-only bond. Meanwhile, it's not clear if he has entered a plea or hired an attorney to represent him in the case. A preliminary hearing is scheduled to take place on Monday, January 26. The investigation into the case is ongoing and the St. Louis Police Department told Us Weekly that there are no further updates as of time of publication. "She's been in her neighborhood 20 plus years so everybody on the block know her, they looked out for her. Walking to and from the store, 'Hey Ms. Allred.' She's just like, what they say, love." Her son Marvin Allred also spoke to the outlet, saying that Fannie was "one of the most beautiful souls that you would ever come in contact with." Fannie's granddaughter Jermayor Allred also shared that she "was loved by everyone," adding that many of the family members recently got together to celebrate Christmas. Ronald's sister, Ronye Allred, expressed her surprise over the incident, saying that "the person that I knew would have never done anything like this."
