General Hospital is paying tribute to cast member Anthony Geary less than one month after his death. On the Thursday, January 1, episode of ABC's soap opera, viewers were treated to a special encore of Geary's final episode as Luke Spencer. The episode originally aired on July 27, 2015, and marked the end of Geary's nearly four-decade run with Port Charles and the show. "Loved today's show!!!!❤️❤️ Thanks, GH," one fan wrote via Instagram after the show aired. Another added, "I was crying at the end. I normally don't watch when they put an encore episode on but this was special." "Geary first joined General Hospital in 1978 after catching the attention of the show's executive producer, Gloria Monty. While he briefly played Bill Eckert, the actor primarily took on the role of Luke Spencer until he retired in 2015.
