Rob and Michele Reiner's medical records have been sealed weeks after their deaths! Shortly after the Hollywood legends were tragically killed in their Brentwood home, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner revealed their causes of death as "multiple sharp force injuries," and their manner of death was ruled a homicide. Their son Nick Reiner was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, and faces a maximum of life in prison without parole or even the death penalty if convicted... but something odd just happened. Related: Martin Scorsese Mourns Rob & Michele Reiner After Shocking Murders On Monday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office revealed in a statement on their official government website that they'd been court ordered to seal Rob and Michele's medical records: "December 29, 2025 - On December 24 at 10:30 a.m., the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner (Department) received a court order, initiated by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), to place a security hold on Medical Examiner case numbers 2025-19480 and 2025-19481, Robert and Michele Reiner." Wait, WHAT? We already know their causes of death, so what's with this move?! The statement continued: "While the cause and manner of death were previously released on these cases, due to the court order, the information is no longer available. No other case information or records, including the Medical Examiner report, can be released or posted on the website until further notice. The Department understands the public's interest in these cases and remains committed to transparency when possible. Information will be made available once the court order is lifted." What could possibly be the reason for placing a "security hold" on information that was already made public? Well, according to the LAPD, it came down to a matter of protecting their investigation. The department told NBC 4 on Monday: "The LAPD sought to seal the records of the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's investigation into Robert and Michele Reiner's death. The causes of death of Mr. and Mrs. Reiner have already been made public. The order was sought only to ensure detectives from Robbery-Homicide Division learned of important information surrounding their deaths before the media and the public.
