MORE: Follow Wonderwall on MSN for more top news _ According to Daily Mail columnist Ephraim Hardcastle, King Charles III is "gently backtracking" and "regretting" Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's strict banishment. His Majesty, who allegedly tried to call his younger brother, will be "reinstating access to staff and stables." _ Due to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, King Charles III removed the former Duke of York's titles and evicted him from Royal Lodge. "As well as losing titles, gongs and his mansion, Andrew suffered behind-the-scenes degradations including having royal staff funded by the King removed, his takeaways from Windsor Castle's kitchens ended and an edict demanding he stay out of sight until he is eventually relocated," Ephraim Hardcastle wrote. _ In his last plea to the King, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly urged him not to reduce him to the status of a commoner, warning it would "effectively be pronouncing him guilty," the columnist claimed. Andrew has been accused of assaulting Virginia Giuffre, but he denied any wrongdoing. _ Prince William, the future king of England, was reportedly the one who spearheaded Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's removal from The Firm. "King Charles III finally bowed to his son's demands over his disastrous attempts to rehabilitate his corrupt brother [former] Prince Andrew and agreed to ban Prince Andrew from all further public-facing family events," expert Tom Sykes wrote for The Royalist Substack. _ In a statement, King Charles III and Buckingham Palace explained their decision. "His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honors of Prince Andrew," they said. "Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse."
